Abstract

The ability of NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT process is considered as advantageous capabilities for organizations. Information- and knowledge-based businesses, and product development organizations need sufficient information and knowledge to be successful. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY on the NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT process. The study population is Dadfar Shiraz food industry. In terms of target, this research is applied, and from the point of gathering data, it is correlation and single cross sectional-survey. According to the studies, the conceptual model was mapped and three hypotheses were compiled. To analyze the data and verify the hypotheses, structural equation modeling (SEM) and partial least squares (PLS) were used. The results obtained by analyzing the compiled hypotheses show that the KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY and NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT have a positive and significant relation. Also, the relationship between KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY and CUSTOMER KNOWLEDGE, and between the latter and NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT are significant.
