The taxonomic status of the genus Secale L. in Iran was reviewed. Morphological and taxonomic aspects of the taxa belonging to the genus were studied based on a total number of 50 accessions and 104 herbarium sheaths from a wide range of distribution of the genus in Iran. The results of this study showed that the genus Secale occurs in Iran with two species: 1- Secale cereale L. subsp. cereale and subsp. ancesterale Zhuk., and 2- Secale strictum (C. Presl) C. Presl subsp. strictum var. strictum and var. ciliatiglume (Boiss.) Fred. & G. Petersen.

SDS-PAGE seed protein analysis was performed among 15 populations of 8 Lotus species of Iran in order to illustrate the species interrelationships. In total 29 bands were obtained some of which were common in all species and populations therefore may be considered as common bands in Lotus species studied. Some bands occurred only in a single species while some others differed among populations of a single species. Cluster analysis of the Lotus species based on protein data grouped different populations of each species in a distinct cluster indicating the species distinctness and also supported the species interrelationships observed by morphometric studies.

Crucianella macrostachya Boiss. is recorded from Iran. This species have been collected from Bisotun Protected Area in Kermanshah province in W. of Iran. Characteristics, exact locality, habitat, geographical distribution and the last state of nomenclature are explained.

Trifolium sylvaticum Eig. is reported for the first time for the flora of Iran. It has been collected from Marivan area in Kurdistan province. This species is distinguished from T. stellatumL. by the following characters: Stipules entire, head sessile, corolla short, 8 to 10 mm. long, etc.

Acantholimon densiflorum is described from Azerbaijan province. It is related to A. caryophyllaceum, A. araxanuum and A. armenum, but well characterized with much denser inflorescence. A. flabellum is described from NE. Iran. It seems to be related to A. haesarense, a species from Kerman province. A. glabratum is described from Arak area. It is compared with its relatives A. wendelboi and A. petuniflorum. A. moradii is described from Kurdistan province. It is from A. acerosum and A. halophilum complex which is compared with.

Fraxinus excelsior subsp. excelsior is recorded for the flora of Iran. Two new varieties including Fraxinus angustifolia subsp. syriaca var. pilosa and F. angustifolia subsp. persica var. pubescens are described from West of Iran (Zagros mountain). Fraxinus angustifolia subsp. persica is the new combination. Also field studies approved that Oleaferruginea and O. aucheri are synonymous and they should be included in O. europaea subsp. cuspidata.

Revising the specimens of Cyperaceae family in Iran, Carex michelii, Pycreus sanguinolentus as new records for the flora of Iran, and C. tomentosa as an interesting species are reported.

Amaranthus spinosus L. (Amaranthaceae) was collected from Lavandvil Wildlife Refuge (near Astara) in Gilan Province on sandy lands. This species is reported for the first time from Iran.

Hieracium piranshahricum is described as a new species from Iran. H. longiscapum is reported as a new record for the flora of Iran. They belong to the section Pratensina and subsection Pratenses. H. piranshahricum is compared with its close relative H. longiscapum.

Cousinia nujianensis from sect. Stenocephalae is described as a new species from SW of Iran. Its recognized relationships with the closest species are discussed. Illustration of the new species is presented.

Bromus secalinus collected in the expedition to the Ardabil province, is reported as a new record from Iran.

Derbesia marina (Lyngbye) Kjellman (Derbesiaceae, Chlorophyceae) is recorded for the first time from Persian Gulf. Through an investigation on seaweeds of Persian Gulf in south of Iran the species was collected from intertidal regions of Bandar Shenas that located West of Bandar Lengeh in Hormozgan province.

Linaria karajensis is described as a new species from Tehran province. This species belongs to the section Linaria. The new species is compared with its closest relatives Linaria lineolata Boiss. and Linaria elymatica (Boiss.) Kuprian.Linaria karajensis differs from Linaria lineolata in the length of style, spur and calyx, indumentum of calyx, testa cell form and length of seed. It differs from L. elymatica in testa cells form, the length of seed, corolla, pedicel, style, spur, and indumentum of calyx.

Leymus tianschanicus is recorded from Sabzevar area. A short description of the species is given and taxonomic-geographic history of it is discussed.

Cardamine flexuosa With. (Cruciferae) and Carex orbicularis Boott subsp. orbicularis (Cyperaceae) are reported for the first time from Iran in Hyrcanian and Irano-Turanian phytochoria respectively. Taxonomical problems, ecology and phytogeography of each species are discussed. Also a clearer picture of distribution and ecology of Cardamine tenera Gmel. in North of Iran is presented.

Paeonia mascula subsp. mascula has been collected from the oak forests near the village Chenareh, Marivan, Kurdistan. Neither this species nor its synonym P. kavachensis has been included in the floras covering Iranian territory.

Eight new species of the genus Astragalus belonging to different sections are described from Iran. New species are: A. (Erioceras) bavanatensis, A. (Hymenostegis) simakanensis, A. (Erioceras) khongensis, A. (Acidodes) magnibracteatus, A. (Stereothrix) mahneshanensis, A. (Aegacantha) montisparrowii, A.(Incani) quaratchaicus, A. (Microphysa) rubriphysa.Descriptions and distribution of these species are given.

Some new records of Astragalus from Khorassan and Azarbayejan provinces including A. leiosemius from sect. Aegacantha; A. versipilus from sect.Erioceras and A. shebarensis from sect. Trachycercis in Khorassan province and A. asciocalyx Bunge from sect. Onobrychoidei D.; A. incertus Ledeb., A. dzhebrailicus Grossh. and A. psoraloides all from sect. Hololeuce Bunge is recorded form W. Azarbayejan province.

Three new species of the genus Tanacetum are described as follows: Tanacetum elbursense, T. bachtiaricum and T. sonbolii. T. tabrisianum (Boiss.) Sosn. & Takht. resurrected as an independent species from T. canescens DC., Tanacetum parthenifolium (Willd.) Shultz Bip. And Tanacetum persicum (Boiss.) Mozaff. comb. novo ressurrected as independent spceies from Tanacetum parthenium (L.) Shultz Bip. Description of Tanacetum dumosum is corrected and Artemisia campestris, Artemisia marschalliana, Leucantheum vulgare and Tripleurospermum monticolum introduced as new records for the flora of Iran.
