Having mentioned some of major achievements by Islamic awakening, the author has studied developments in countries where Islamic awakening has occurred including Egypt, Yemen and Bahrain as case studies. Finally he has covered Syria's developments in detail and has compared its developments with other countries with respect to Islamic awakening. He has concluded that unlike claims by western countries, Syria's developments are not identical to other countries and is a kind of organized terrorist movement to topple Assad' s government.

During Islamic revolution of Iran, people played an important and undeniable role in the progress of this political movement and its victory by their angry and rhythmic slogans shouted in alleys and streets that clarified foundations and objectives of their revolution. Due to their rhythm, simplicity, shortness, humor and religious sacredness, slogans would be quickly memorized and distributed by repetition. Although slogans were made and used by people on the street and bazaar in a short time but their aesthetic elements are remarkable and research-worthy to some extent. Having looked at socio-political aspects of poems, the author has studied them with respect to their literary and aesthetic aspects applying descriptive analysis which indicates that poetic talent granted by God to Iranians, their delicate and witty nature as well as their familiarity with poems and literature, are also reflected in their revolutionary slogans.

Identification of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats is among the most important factors influencing the survival of civilizations and governments. Therefore, identification and discovery of these four variables are in close relation with maintenance of national security, its decrease or even destruction as well as the continuation of revolutionary movement and political survival of Islamic republic of Iran. With this in mind, the current article seeks to explore, extract and clarify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by the system born out of Islamic revolution at the beginning of its fourth decade. Strengths and weaknesses are influenced by internal factors while opportunities and threats are influenced by external and supra-national factors.

Following the victory of Islamic revolution of Iran and with the help of different media, Psychological warfare waged by western countries against Iran has occurred in the framework of representing different issues in the form of an orientalistic discourse and the concept of duality of Islam and west. One of these issues is Iran's nuclear program which has been on the spotlight of media in their psychological war against Iran and to inculcate Iranophobia. Iranium in this regard takes up a specific orientalistic approach with a specific representation of Islamic republic of Iran's nuclear program to inculcate Iranophobia and to introduce this program as a threat to international peace and security. Having applied theoretical framework of representation and utilizing discourse analysis, this article tries to study discourse approaches in this documentary.

Political systems can be divided into unity oriented and plurality oriented systems based on their inclination toward unity or plurality. Orientation toward unity in the field of politics is applied in ideas that concentrate on political power and considers the right to sovereignty as an exclusive right of government and its will. On the contrary, plurality oriented approach insists on the diversity of power sources and their distribution among competitors. The truth is that both approaches are extreme and has led them to face challenges in theory and practice. Under these circumstances, the urge to find an alternative for them guides us toward the idea of “unity despite plurality” in the theory of welayate faqih.In this theory, “unity despite plurality” can be followed in two related fields i.e. political structure and political thinking and practice and it can be introduced as one of the functions of welaayate faqih.

This article mainly tries to study how much indexes of political freedom in Islamic Republic of Iran have been implemented with an emphasis on the constitution. To this end, first the position of freedom in the constitution has been explained then principles related to political freedom in Islamic republic of Iran's constitution have been studied and indexes of political freedom have been extracted. Later, presenting distinctive statistical data based on these indexes, the amount of attention paid to political freedom by different governments from 1990 to 2010 has been studied. The statistics in this article, most of them presented for the first time, include elections after the victory of the Islamic revolution, the number of licenses issued for the periodicals during the tenure of “construction” Government, “reforms” Government and ninth government, the field of periodicals, the number of political organizations and parties during “construction”, “reforms” and ninth government, house impeachment of ministers and cases of not giving the vote of confidence, questioning different ministers, investigation from different institutes and organs. These statistics indicate that political freedoms are among the most important achievements by Islamic republic of Iran and different governments have paid serious attention to this issue.

Seyyed Qutb, an outstanding theoretician of Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt, is among the famous figures whose thoughts have deeply influenced the world of Islam, an influence that can't be ignored. Iranian clerics, who considered western civilization as a threat to Islamic identity of their society, used Seyyed Qutb's thoughts, along with other sources, to fight western model. This article mainly tries to find out whether Ayatollah Taleqani has been influenced by Seyyed Qutb's viewpoints in his opinions. To provide an answer to this question, considering two issues of “conceptual similarities” And “chronological sequence” it can be accepted that Seyyed Qutb's thoughts have influenced Ayatollah Taleqani's anti-western opinions.Sings of Ayatollah Taleqani's relation with Arabic and Islamic circles familiar with Seyyed Qutb's viewpoints specially his access to Arabic or Persian translation of his works reinforces this probability.

To accept sovereignty as a supreme power by seculars in the field of politics and not accepting the sovereignty as a supreme power in the field of ruling is derived from their difference in their bases i.e.difference in Islamic political philosophy and secular political philosophy. Islamic viewpoint depicts the ruling such that although the nation decides its destiny, but has a glimpse on heavens to form this ruling and considers it from God. Therefore Islam speaks of a ruling which does not comply with any secular thoughts.

Having reviewed the historical trend observed in Pahlavid era, this article tries to study a model of historical exploration of democratic gap. This model implies compilation of a new arrangement for variables influencing reinforcement or democracy gap and their comparative weight. Lack of a sustaining historical background for the formation of a stable social organization in the society on one hand and instability and chaos in the structure of the ruling system and its serious animosity toward religion and clerics as well as the formation of secularism in Iran on the other hand are among the main reasons and factors hindering the formation of a trend based on democracy up to the victory of Islamic revolution of Iran.

This article is aimed at the study of the status of articles published in the quarterly of “Islamic Revolution Studies”. Method applied here is citation analysis. Excel has been used to analyze data.Findings indicate that in 22 issues of this quarterly, 199 articles have been published. All of them are compiled articles and one of them has been published in English language.97 have been collectively compiled while the rest of them are products of a single individual's research. Total citations are 6141 and average citation for each paper and each issue is 30.85 and 279.13 respectively. Books with 4415 citations and English sources with 1144 citations outnumber other sources. Out of cited books, 90.7 percent was used by single authors and 9.29 were used collectively. Among the magazines, 82.04 percent of them were cited by single authors while 17.95 percent were used collectively. Among the Persian sources cited, 78.33 percent were compiled books while 21.66 percent were translated works. About magazines, 88.72 percent (771 cases) were articles in Persian magazines while 11.27 percent were translated ones.
