Myth is one of the most precious treasures of human being, and it is the resource of many cultures. Myth is firmly connected with literature. It is claimed that, in the modem age, contemporary literature doesn't create new myths, but rather, it merely recreates the old and known myths. ,This paper attempts to consider the relationship between myth and literature in the poems of Iranian contemporary poets such as MahdI Akhavan Sales, Sohrab Sepehri, and Ahmad Shamlu, and compare their approach with Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio, in his work, "The Mexican Dream, Or, The Interrupted Thought of Amerindian Civilizations".
