Abstract: 

This research was carried out to compare the academic performance, anxiety, depression and aggression of two groups of third-grade female students at Ahvaz Guidance Schools: Those with stepfathers (or stepmothers) versus those who live, with their natural parents. The sample consisted of 216 students which randomly selected from the educational districts of the city of Ahvaz. The scales used in this study were Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Eysenck Aggression Inventory(EAI), and Anxiety Questionnaire (ANQ). Student GPAs were used as an index of their general academic performance. Data analysis, using a One-way ANOVA, indicated significant differences among the groups with respect to their scores on all three dependent measures (i.e., anxiety, depression and academic performance indices).

Abstract: 

This research was carried out to compare personal-social adjustment and academic performance of female third-grade students of the new educational system, who have been guided to enter one of the five priorities designated through the educational guidance program. The sample consisted of 600 students randomly selected from various educational districts of Ahvaz. Subjects were recruited from three academic fields: applied sciences, mathematics-physics, and humanities.Students' GPAs at the 3th, 4th, and 5th semesters were used as index for their general academic Performance. In this study, The “California Test of Personality” (CTP) was used to measure students Personal-social adjustment as the dependent variable. Data analysis revealed no significant difference in the priorities, except for the students in the applied sciences field with regardto their overall academic performance. Follow-up pair comparisons, however, did not detect any signify-cant difference at P=0.05.

Abstract: 

This study investigated stressors related to education religions thought and mental health in aca-demic performance of boys and girls in Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz. The study sample, included 300 students (150 boys and 150 girls) of azad university ahvaz when where randomly selected out of the all students of this university. For data collection, this study made use of stressors academic Ahvaz Inventory, religions thoughts of All port, and Goldberg general health and moreover student's average was considered as a criterion for getting a better picture of theireducation. The Analysis of data which was contented with person correlation and multiple Regrssion revealed a significant relationship between stressors academic and academic performance. However, con-cerning religions thought and education process no relationship was found. Results also showed that there was a multiple relationship between educational stressors, mental health and religious thought in academic performance among girls and boys.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect life skills training on decreasing anxiety and increasing self-extension of first year high school girl in behbahan province. The samples consist of 80 girls student which were chosen via cluster randomly and divided to control and experimental groups randomly. We used katels anxiety questionnaire and assertion Scale for Adolescents (A.S.A) to collect data in pre-test. Then the experimental group participated in 18 weeks and one section (90 minutes) every week. This study was experimental type (pre test, post test). Data analyzed by Multivariate Analysis Of variance (MANOVA) AT PVALUE (p<0/05) Revealed: There were significant differences between experimental group and control group, whith meant that life skills training had affected the decrease in anxiety and increasing self-extension.

Abstract: 

This research was carried out to investigate the relationship between personality traits (neuroticcism, extroversion, openness, agreeableness and consciousness) and job characteristics (skill, task autonomy, task identity, skill variety, task significance and feedback) with organizational commitment (affective commitment, continuous commitment, normative commitment) in Ahvaz Water and Power Organization. The sample consisted of 200 subjects selected by a stratified random sampling method from the organizational staff. In this research, different instruments were used to collect data, such as personality Traits Questionnarie (NEO-PI-R) and job Diagnostic Survey (GDS) and Allen and Meyers Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ). To analyza the data, Person Correlation, MANOVA, and Cronbach Alpha tests were used. Results indicated that Personality traits correlate significant relationships were revealed between job characteristics on one hand, and affective commitment and normative and continuous commitment. The level of singnificant in this study was P<0.05.

Abstract: 

This research was aimed at comparing the mental health characteristics and marital satisfaction between 'wanted' and 'unwanted' pregnant women in ahvaz. To this end, 150 pregnant women were randomly selected from pregnant women referred to the center for parental care, completed SCL-90-R (administered to assess metal heath) and Enrich Questionnaires (employed to as-sess the marital satisfaction). Results showed that there were statistically significant differences (P=0.05) between the two groups with respect to their scores on mental health and marital satisfaction indices.

Abstract: 

This investigation, studied the effect of group cognitive- behavior therapy in reduction of anxiety and dysfunctional attitude on patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). 20 female partici-pants were recognized to have GAD by the researcher through a clinical interview on the basis of DSM-IV-TR standards and invited to take part in the study. They first filled in the Dysfunctional Attitude Scale (forty-question form) as the pre-test of dysfunctional attitudes variable. Then, they completed Beck Anxiety Inventory as the pre-test of anxiety variable and then they were randomly categorized in either treatment or control group. Group cognitive- behavior intervention wasper- formed during twelve sessions, two hours each weeks. The control group was on the waiting list during therapeutic intervention. Midtest was administered at the end of the sixth session and the post-test was given at the end of the twelfth session. Data were calculated by mixed repeated measure method and the findings suggested that dysfunctional attitudes factor was significantly reduced in the experimental group and supported the hypothesis of the existence of relationship between dysfunctional attitudes GAD disorder. Moreover, the significant decrease of anxiety in the patients indicates the correct direction of the treatment.

Abstract: 

This study investigated the effects of social skills on anxiety and self-esteem among second grade girl' s high school in Baghmalek. Reserrch sample include 92 students selected through multiple stages randomly and divided in to two groups of experiimental and control groups. Instruments included Ketel's Anexiety Questionnarie, coppes smith's self-esteem, and the Handbook of social skills. Reaserch design was pre-test and post-test and data were analyzed by means of description statistics, variance analysis and MANOVA. Results revealed that teaching social skills decreased high school student' s anxiety level and increased their self-esteem.
