Abstract: 

The purpose of this research was to study the teachers’ point of view on the effective factors on not using teaching aids in the process of teaching and learning in high schools in Mazandaran province. The method of the study was descriptive-survey and the population was all teachers at high schools with more than two years service life. Out of the whole statistical population, 360 were selected randomly as sample, based on the Morgan table. The data collection was done through a researcher made questionnaire. In analysis of the collected data, the descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Results showed that several factors were effective on not using of teaching aids in the process of teaching and learning, including: negative attitude of teachers toward teaching aids, shortage and non availability of such aids, the crowding of students in each class, not mastery of teachers in using teaching aids, and inefficiency in way of school management.

Abstract: 

The main goal of this study was to compare the effect of educational softwares with traditional method on learning mathematics by grade 4 elementary level boy students in Ghaemshahr.  In this semi-experimental research out of 65 classes, two classes (Fajr and Sama No.1) with 60 students were randomly selected. Sample group was divided into control and experimental groups. To achieve the goal of research, the semi experimental method including pre-test and post-test design were applied. To analyze the obtained data through pre-test and post-test, independent t test was applied. Comparison of the means of pre test of two groups; using independent t test; indicated that there was no significant difference between their prerequisite of new contents. On the other hand, the comparison of the means of post-test of two groups through application of t test showed that there was a significant difference between the groups. The results revealed that the students learning through the application of software can make better improvement in education than those learning through traditional methods.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was the identification of most major barriers and solutions of using capabilities of electronic informational banks from the point of view of graduate students of Isfahan University. The method of the research was descriptive-survey and the statistical population was all graduate students of Isfahan University (4035 people) in the 2008-2009 academic year. According to Krejcie and Morgan table, 380 persons were selected by random stratified sampling method. The data collecting tool which consists 3 parts was a researcher made questionnaire with 0.84 validity and 0.85 reliability. The first part was related to the demographic information; the second part was related to the identification of most major barriers of using capabilities of electronic informational banks; and the third part deals with the identification of most major solutions. In order to analyze the information, the statistical methods of frequency, percentage and one sample t test was used. The results showed that the graduate students considered the most important barriers of using electronic informational banks as "lack of familiarity with information searching skill", with average 4.27 that is more than mean (3). Also they stated that "establishing English language courses towards better use of world web network" (81.2%), and "establishing special courses for training skills of searching electronic informational banks" (75.7%) were the most important solutions.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of information and communication technology on effectiveness and creativity of high school teachers of Fasa city. The statistical population of the research included all male and female formal high school teachers of Fasa (317 people) in 2009-2010 academic year. The statistical sample of study included 111 teachers selected through a simple random sampling based on Morgan table. Data was collected by three questionnaires: effectiveness questionnaire, Torrance creativity questionnaire, and a researcher made information and communication technology questionnaire. Validity of instruments was reviewed by internal consistency method, and its reliability was calculated through Cronbach Alpha, which was 0.85 for effectiveness questionnaire, 0.70 for creativity questionnaire and 0.91 for information and communication technology questionnaire. The most important results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between effectiveness of teachers who used internet and those who did not use it. Also there was a significant difference between creativity and innovation of teachers who used information and communication technology and those who did not use it.

Abstract: 

In the present decade, multi-media as one of the modern educational means have greatly helped the development of knowledge in information age. Graphical images have been the fundamental element of multimedia in promoting creativity in the design of learning environment. Dynamic graphical images are designed to increase learning and are used in development of educational softwares. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of dynamic and static graphical images on learning of geometry. The research method was a quasi-experimental one. Three hypotheses were developed with respect to comparing the effect of dynamic and static graphical images on the learning of geometry through traditional method. Before the interference of the independent variable, pre-test was performed to determine the homogeneity of the groups.The population of the study consists of secondary school girls in Tehran. Three district of Tehran were randomly chosen as the sample by using cluster sampling method. From each district one school and from each school one class with 30 students were chosen and studied. An independent t test was used to study the mean differences among groups. The results indicated that there was no significant statistical difference between the means of the groups.

Abstract: 

The present research is a quasi–experimental one with the aim of determining the effect of information and communication technology- based (ICT-based) teaching method in creating sustained learning in experimental science course of third grade secondary school students in Ramsar in 2010. The statistical population included all the third grade secondary school female students about 395 people. Considering the statistical samples available, 50 subjects were selected and divided into experimental and control groups based on random sampling method. To evaluate the comparative effectiveness of ICT-based teaching method and traditional one on students’ sustained learning, a retest was administered in two phases. The first phase was done one month after the initial administration, and the second one was done after three months. To perform ICT-based teaching methods, classes were arranged with two students, each class was given a computer which was connected to the others and to the main computer (that of the teacher) in a network. To control the users and for the purpose of class management," Net School Support" software was used and the subject matters were presented in three different ways: a) electronic content produced by the teacher, b) connection to internet, and c) the use of educational software's. Analysis of the obtained data was done with SPSS software, and the statistical method used t test two independent groups.The results of the research confirmed the effect of ICT-based teaching method in creating sustained learning in experimental sciences course in third grade secondary school students. Therefore, based on tests performed and the obtained results, the rate of sustained learning through ICT- based methods was more than the traditional methods.

Abstract: 

This study was conducted to investigate how Tarbait Moallem university students use mobile phone. Having conducted a preliminary study on how mobile is used by 50 students, the researcher devised a questionnaire. Given the acceptable psychometric indices of the questionnaire, it was administered to a population of 400 female students and 400 male students randomly selected for the purpose of comparatively studying the use of mobile phone by female students and male students. The results of factor analysis showed 6 factors. The findings indicated that female students use mobile for keeping themselves updated on time and dates more frequently than male students. However, the male students use mobile for advanced communication, educational purposes and recreational use more frequently than female students.

Abstract: 

Evaluation has always been a time- consuming, expensive and important process in educational systems. In addition, reliable outcome cannot be achieved unless we use appropriate criteria. In this research, a system using Fuzzy logic criteria was proposed for the evaluation of faculty members' teaching performance. Fuzzy logic is considered as a modern method of inference which is used for different purposes as a powerful instrument when combined with computer. In this research, we first gathered required information from experienced faculty members and those with enough information about new educational technology. Then, efficient methods of teaching mathematics at undergraduate level as the case study have been studied and analyzed using new methods and Fuzzy logic. Finally, with the help of the researches done, a Fuzzy system for educational evaluation was designed and was applied with MATLAB software. The results of the evaluation showed that using the proposed system (in this case study) more efficient evaluation on faculty members' teaching performance would be possible. Also, they can increase and improve the productivity of teaching procedures using this system. Furthermore, this research showed that evaluation errors would decrease using Fuzzy inference.
