Objective: The current research surveys application of IT in acquisition and cataloguing of resources of central and faculty libraries of Azad Universities located in city of Tehran. The main objective of the research are, identify and determine the amount of hardware and software resources, manpower, and how to use new technology and possible obstacles in the collection and cataloging in the library of Azad University in city of Tehran. This research can also be applied to a study that aims to develop and promote the application of information technology and school libraries in Central University of Tehran.Methodology: The method research is analytical survey. Instruments included a questionnaire that the reliability and validity of it has been confirmed. The statistical methods have been used in both the descriptive and inferential. The frequency distribution tables and charts describe the current situation provided for In the inferential statistical test to determine the relationships between variables and the variable has been significantly.Findings: The findings of research showed in all central and faculty libraries of Azad Universities located in city of Tehran 77.2 % of employees have library education and 20.7% have non-library education. The most hardware facilities in libraries included computers and printers and the most software facilities in libraries included comprehensive library software which is 40% of Nosa software and 37.7% was Pars Azarakhsh soft ware among them in cataloguing used software (82.2%) and the use of them in order section is (2.2%) had the least percentage. 88.9% of libraries lacked independent website and they were using facility of the central library to demand service to users. Besides the book, the most resource being used for acquisition and cataloguing were the thesis. Searching in information centers (48.9) and for this reason searching in Internet was the most area for information gathering that the duty persons were more familiar with them. Using Internet in the field of selecting information resource had the first rank, ordering resources and selection of them stant in second place and information exchange among book keepers, contacting subjective experts and detection of electronic tools were in next places. Related web sites concerning book keeping and organizing of 22 libraries (48.9%) and search tools with 20 cases (44.4%) were among the most important facilities of Internet which had the most use of acquisition process among research community.Conclusion: Totally, lack of funding and experts in cataloging were the most significant difficulties in using these technologies the major problems that hinder the provision of services to students and academics is required.

Objective: the present study has been done to measure facilities to provide e-reference service in central library of Islamic Azad University- Research & Science branch-Tehran.Methodology: the study method is survey-descriptive. The studied population includes the students of (BS, MS and Ph.D) degrees, librarians and library manager of Islamic Azad University-Research & Science branch-Tehran. Data collecting tool is the questionnaire provided in two sections: the first and second sections review polling user and library facilities and abilities respectively. The data have been analyzed by SPS application.Findings: the data indicate 91% of the users can access to the internet, they are relatively familiar with information-communicative technology, and excessively tend to receive e-reference service. The librarians ability of using information technology and their interest in learning required skills to provide e-reference service would be considered acceptable. The library is in inappropriate situation financially and technically (facilities & equipment).Conclusion: considering improper budget status, equipment and space of the library, personal's competency and their passion of learning required skills to provide e-reference service as well as user's knowledge of the service may be above intermediate level, from the personal and manager.s viewpoint, the library would be fail to provide e-reference service. Considering, this applied study the library can use the data and satisfy user by allocating valid budget to provide and develop the service.

Objective: The research purpose is to investigate the relationship between Organizational Intelligence and usage rate of Information and Communication Technology in public universities librarians in Kerman.Methodology: In this study, data was collected by standardized questionnaire of Albrecht Organizational Intelligence and researcher-developed questionnaire usage rate of Information and Communication Technology. Statistical community included 65 librarians of academic libraries in Kerman in 1391. Data was analyzed by SPSS15 and level of Pearson correlation.Findings: Results show no significant relationship between Organizational Intelligence and Information Technology in level (P<0.05). But results show there is a significant relationship between components of inclination for change and union and compatibility with Information Technology in level (P<0.05).Conclusion: To have the desirable level of inclination for change and union and compatibility between librarians is one of the basic components of Information Technology in libraries. It means that, high level of its two components leads to more usage of Information Technology in libraries.

Objective: This study aims to identify the flow of information in the research Institutes of Islamic Azad University from the perspective of researchers, conducted using a researcher- made questionnaire.Methodology: The methodology of research was survey method. The population of the study consisted of 7 research institutes affiliated to Islamic Azad University includes research assistants, heads of scientific groups, library administrators and faculty members as members of study population. 25 questionnaires had been sent and 24 questionnaires (96 percent) had been returned.Findings: The results showed that in the input stage (collecting and using information), electronic forms more than printed formats and in the processing stage (production and storage of information), printed forms more than electronic formats and in the output stage (dissemination of information), printed forms more than electronic formats are used. Further. The researchers use electronic resources more than print sources, but this situation is reversed in the production and dissemination stage and the printed format are used more than electronic formats.Conclusion: analysis using ANOVA showed that the difference between use of different types of formats in three stages: input, processing and output, in the most items, were not significant and little difference has been. The overall status of the information flow is acceptable in input stage and poor in the processing step.

Objective: The Purpose of this Survey is to analyze the rate of the usage of Judges from electronic and printed sources in Tehran Judiciary Libraries. It is intending to find the reasons and effective factors of Judges usage in these Libraries.Methodology: The method used is a kind of descriptive through gathering device of data, questionnaire is used, and 220 Tehran Judges have been surveyed. The analysis of data was done by statistical software spss.Findings: Judges use the libraries significantly (R=0.05) to increase and improve the quality of their jobs and knowledge. 30.5% of them use books and 31.4% use magazines only once a month. Results indicates that They don’t use thesis and electronic sources, they also use law data bases very little. 61.4% of them gain their needful information by referring to the books available in offices. Using internet, purchasing book, subscribing special low journal are other ways of having access to the information. The main reasons of the shortage of printed and electronic sources are inaccessibility, the lack of time and lake of knowledge about resources.Consequently, there is a relation between the rate of the usage of Judges and improving the quality of their jobs. So the hypothesis of research is approved.Conclusion: based on the findings in this Survey, Judges need to use libraries more in order to improve the quality of their jobs. using books and journals are in the first place among the statistical community, but unfortunately using Electronic sources are not in an ideal situation. shortage of Libraries, lack of hardware and soft ware equipments, not being informed enough by available libraries and also lack of time are the main reasons. To improve this situation some suggestions have been offered.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify feasibility invention of agricultural national library (ANL) in Republic of Islamic of Iran; a case study of manager opinions in agriculture field.Methodology: The research method used was a descriptive and a questionnaire was used to gather data. The statistical population of this study included 75 persons that 41 persons of them were manager directors of agricultural faculties in governmental universities and 34 persons of them were manager directors of agricultural research centers related to agricultural education and research organization. Data was gathered through a questionnaire and its validity was confirmed by a panel of experts in the field of information and agricultural extension and education. Instrument reliability was estimated by calculating Cronbach alpha coefficient.Findings: The finding of this study showed that quick and update information services to students, faculty members, researchers and agricultural specialists through relation with agricultural information databases and other dependent sciences as one of the goals of ANL 98.6% and Agricultural extension and increasing of farmers awareness and literacy level have got 58.8% and Gathering, protecting, organizing and information dissemination related to written and unwritten works about agricultural sciences other sciences as a part of library duties,, have got 95.7% and performance meeting, scientific and special seminars on agriculture and related sciences have got 47.2% As view point of structure style, independent governmental organization have got 48.5% and As view point a private organization have got 38.6%. As view point of organization dependent to MSRT have got 42.9% and MCIG have got 35.6%.Conclusions: Results showed that for establishment the National Agricultural Library in Iran must be considered number of factors, including objectives, functions, facilities, services, manpower.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the library services of Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch, with a marketing approach. In this study, two principles of the variety 4P's is emphasized: 1. Promotion 2. Products.Methodology: An applied and descriptive study was used. In this survey a questionnaire has been carried out and stratified random sampling of students in Science and Research population was 378 and hypotheses ware examined.Findings: Findings indicate that the required information, and related academic courses, identifies sources of professional, technical and professional updating of information were the most reasons for visitors and they used mostly theses and books. Librarians had the most important role in promoting library programs and using brochure was in second place. Participation rate of students in selection of information resources was moderate.Results: Result show that there were a significant relationship between using the library services and information resources There also a relationship between services promotion program services and the extension of library services are presented. The research hypotheses were confirmed.

Objective: the general aim of this research was to make a reliable and valid test for assessing the students’ information literacy at Payame-Noor University.Methodology: the method of this research was descriptive (survey) research, and statistical population of it included all students that enrolled in all branches of Payam-Noor University of Hamedan province. The total number of those were 28530 people. For sampling of population, a cluster sampling method was used. On the basis of this method, the 387 subjects were selected. For gathering of dada a research-made questionnaire was used. This questionnaire has made based on the Likert scale (very high, high, moderate, low, and very low). The component of scale (questionnaire) included 5 standard competency of ACRL. The questionnaire included 30 items in the form of self-report statements. For becoming suitable of items, the discriminative power method was used and formal, content and constructive (convergent validity and factor analysis) methods were used for validating of it. Based on the convergent validity, the correlation coefficient between my questionnaire and Asgharnia’s Questionnaire (2009) was 0.77. Also, results of explanatory factor analysis on the items of questionnaire lead to extraction of 6 factors with a total cumulative variance explained nearly 66.5%. Also, on the basis of confirmatory factor analysis, the 5 factors with a total cumulative variance explained nearly 63%, were extracted. For making items reliable, the Cronbach’s alpha was used (a=0.94).Findings: in general, results show that the research-made scale (information literacy questionnaire) is a suitable and reliable instrument for assessing the information literacy of distance learner. Also, other result of research shows that the level of students’ information literacy skills at Payam-e-Noor University is moderate.Conclusion: one of the results of this study was that the instrument (scale) is valid & reliable, so using this scale is proposed for assessing of Students’ Information Literacy at other branches of Payam-e-Noor University. Another result of research was that level of students’ information literacy in PNU isn’t desirable and there is a gap between status quo and desirable situation; therefore some interventions (such as: formal and informal instruction) for rising of students’ information literacy is proposed.
