Abstract: 

The present study was performed to determine if Helicobacter spp is present in the stomach of stray dogs by different diagnostic methods in Mashhad.48 stray dogs were studied. The presence of Helicobacter spp was determined by single PCR, Urea test, cytology and culture from fundus, body and gastric juice. Genus specific PCR positive samples were further evaluated for H.pylori, H.felis and H.heilmannii using specific primer pairs. Helicobacter spp DNA was detected by single PCR in 40 (83.3%) fondues, 40 (83.3%) body and 46 (95.8%) gastric juice samples. H.pylori specific-species PCR was uniformly negative. The prevalence of H.felis was 64.58% and H.heilmannii was 89.6% in the stomach. High helicobacter spp. Infection rate in dog's stomach and possibility of zoonotic transmission to human, proper hygienic control is necessary to keep the risk to a minimum.

Abstract: 

In 2007, mass mortality occurred in juvenile shrimpL. vannamei in most farms of Bousher province in the south of Iran. The gross sign of moribund shrimp was red discoloration in body surface as well as in tail and appendage. The gut of shrimp was empty and by close observation many necrotic area were seen in the tail and appendage.200 samples collected and fixed in Davidson fixative for histopathology. The small part of pelopoda was preserved in ethyl alcohol 95% for polymerase chain reaction. The histopathological finding that characterize in acute form of TSV were multifocal necrosis in the cuticular epithelium and often, the subcuticular connective tissue and at time, the underlying striated muscles, multiple, spheroid inclusion body were scattered the affected area of cuticle tissue. This spherical inclusion body in H & E/Ph staining showed eosinophilic to basophilic color in hind gut and stomach. The samples also examined by PCR KIT for TSV infection by IQ 2000TM WIT Multivir System and IQ 2000TM TSV Detection and Prevention Kit (Farming IntelliGene Technology Corporation, Taipei, Taiwan) with the respective RNA extracts. The PCR results showed positive reaction to infection with TSV.

Abstract: 

Lactating Holstein dairy cows (n=167) were assigned randomly to four treatments groups. two groups presynchronized with two injection of PGF2a, 14 days apart and then followed with Ovsynch and Heatsynch (presynch-ovsynch or presynch-heatsynch) and two other groups presynchronized with one injection of PGF2a and two day after that receive GnRH 6 d before the first GnRH injection of ovsynch and heatsynch (G6G-ovsynch or G6G-heatsynch). Four blood samples were collected from cows for determination of plasma progesterone concentration. Sample 1 and 2 for determining the cyclic cows and Third samples 24h after PGF of the Ovsynch and Heatsynch protocol were taken to assay blood serum estradiol. The fourth sample was taken at 21 days afetr AI. Transrectal ultrasonography was performed to diagnose pregnant cows 30 d after AI. Mean milk production and BCS around AI time was similar among treatments. Estradiol concentration at proestrus was similar among groups. Although conception rate was higher in Presynch-Heasynch (%53 versus %43 in presynch-ovsynch and G6Gheatsynch and %39 in presynch-ovsynch) but this difference was not significance. There was a significance positive correlation between estradiol conentration and conception rate (0.267) in our study in total but this correlation was higher in G6G-Ovsynch (0.343). This study has shown that there is a positive corrolation between preovulatory estradiol concentation and conception rate in the synchronized dairy cattle.

Abstract: 

The enrichment with probiotics is useful method for prevention of various diseases. In this study used whey as its beneficial nutritional properties, for providing a probiotic beverage.Stereptococcus thermophilusand Lactobacillus casei were prepared from food and during control department. In first step obtained the number of initial inoculum of each bacteria (108 cfu/ml) using spectrophotometery (OD: 1/52), then inoculated (102 cfu/ml) to sterile whey powder broth. In second step, the growth kinetics of bacteria determined in different temperatures (4, 25, 37)oC during 32hr with used 2 hour intervals cultured pour plate colony count (SCD Agar and MRS Agar), respectively. The results indicated that kinetic growth of two bacteria were the same in 0, 12, 18 hours (p≤0.05) and after it the numbers of each bacteria remained 107 cfu/ml. In third step (for stability test) the numbers of two bacteria and pH whey broth measurement, obtained at different temperature (4, 25, 37)oC during 14 days. In result, the bacterial growth were the same 107-108 cfu/ml) and pH changes were (5.8, 4.4, 4.8) respectively. At fourth step the evaluation of organoleptic test was done based on consistency and flavor (taste and smell) with different ratio of L: S (1: 1, 1: 2, 2: 1). The best group was the group 1: 1. So, this probiotic beverage based on whey is useful for purpose of industrial production.

Abstract: 

Hemorrhagic Enteritis (HE) is a contagious disease in turkeys caused by avian adenovirus type II which leads to enteric disease and immune suppression and finally decrease flock performance. This study was carried out to examine HE seroprevalence within some commercial turkey flocks by ELISA technique. A total of 420 serum samples were collected from 21 meattype turkey flocks of 12 provinces of Iran and were examined serologically by ELISA test (Synbiotics ProFlock-HE, USA). Results showed that 76.2% of flocks were positive, 9.5% were suspect and 14.3% were negative based on Arithmetic mean titers (AMT) and interpretation of kit. From 420 serum samples, 292 sera (69.5%) were positive, 51 (12.2%) were suspect and 77 (18.3%) were negative. There were a significant positive correlation between HE titers with FCR and mortality rate (P<0.05) and significant reverse correlation with average of weight gain (P<0.05). This study indicated that seroprevalence of HE is high in Iranian meat-type turkey flocks. However more studies are need for isolation and identification of virus in flock.

Abstract: 

A study was conducted during the 1388 to 1389 parasites argulus foliaceus in some common fish living in marmisho lake of Urmia city were studied.63 Total numbers of fish in revier near the lake and Form Lake in winter, spring and summer caught by net fishing. Fish diction cyprinus carpio (number=33) abramis brama (number=14) capoeta capoeta (number=25) rutilus rutilus caspicus (number=9) silver carp (number=9) and grass carp (number=3). The results of these studies showed that, in 11.11 % of all fish have argulus foliaceus parasites. Parasites in the Marmisho Lake for the first time were observed and recorded.

Abstract: 

Importance of microbial contamination in food industrial is always important health problem especially in high risk population such as children and old individual. TiO2 nanoparticles were obtained through the hydrolysis of TiCl4 (Titanium tetrachloride).It was slowly added into distilled water under constant rotation for 5 hours. This Solution was dried at the 80-1000C and calcinated at the 5500C. Size and type of these Nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-Ray-: Diffraction (XRD) pseudomonas aeroginusa strain (ATCC 27853) were cultured on nutrient agar medium (NA) for 24h at 370C. Suspension by concentration 1×106 cells/ml was prepared. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) test for TiO2and EDTA and garlic were evaluated.Evaluation of Morphology and diameter of the TiO2 nanoparticles with SEM showed that nanoparticles were spherical with diameter between 40-65nm. MIC of TiO2 and EDTA and garlic on pseudomonas aeroginusa ATCC27853 were 2.2, 24.92 and 40 μg/ml respectively.In this study we synthesized the TiO2 nanoparticles with chemical method and showed that it has antimicrobial activity compared with garlic, EDTA and positive control, so it could eliminate Pseudomonas aeroginusa in field of food industrial especially in packaging.
