Abstract:

Various Forces such as those arising from weight, earthquake, wind, waves, hydrostatic and hydrodynamic forces affect the structure of Radial Gate. The calculation and analysis of Radial Gate affected by each of these forces are important matters, which are of special importance in relation to the strength and durability of the gate structure. In this paper, as a case study, effort has been made to optimize the specifications of Karkheh dam’s Radial Gate against forces applied to it.The purpose of optimization analysis is minimize or maximize the goal functions for stiffness, natural frequency, structural energy, etc to find the best shape for radial gate. In this method, the optimized parameter is material distribution. The finite element model developed with goal functions and constraints and so the problem is solved. In this research, the first order method algorithm is used. The dimensions of Karkheh dam radial gate are optimized with optimization module of ANSYS 10.0 software. The reduction of structure weight (about 1.8 percent) is optimized in seventh record. The best safety factor is obtained in this record and the value of it is 6.45.

Abstract:

After an earthquake occurred, fast decisions about building safety, the possibility to continue building and exploiting a situation and determine the desired failure rate, is crucial. Today, new techniques using evolutionary artificial neural network model based on artificial intelligence is widely used in various scientific fields, especially structural and earthquake engineering has found. In this article a moment frame with 4 floors and 4 spans under thirty acceleration records from 1.0g to 1.5g Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis and the amount damage of total frame in each record any acceleration are calculated then used to determine the damage models of evolutionary artificial neural network was paid. For determining the number and effective delay time data input earthquake artificial neural network models of cross correlation method time series was used. Also genetic algorithm used to optimize structure of EANN models view of point layers number, nodes number in hidden layer, type of transfer function and network learning algorithm. Results show that cross correlation method determine truly influence number and temporal lag of input data. In addition to with, comparing the output of MLP model as the best nonlinear regression model with the index Park-Ang can be concluded that the ability of the MLP model, have respectively more ability and flexibility.

Abstract:

Second runway in the southern zone of IKIA is located about (2600 m) far from present northern runway and now is under construction. One of the most important issues is drainage that has been investigated in the past, by excavating a channel in approximately (5 km) length and (10 m) depth from east to west. The results approved that there is no peril about under ground water flow. But because of importance of IKIA, the capacity of base material to carry out of drainage, has been studied in this research by means of determining water flow which penetrate through cracks of the pavement and comparing to capacity of base material grading to passing water and entering to lateral subsurface drainage system that contained geotextile and filter material around the poly ethylene pipe. The result from this research indicated that if we use aggregate size grading in according to type IV from No.101 code (Iranian general and technical specification of road), the performance of pavement will be significantly improved. This high capacity depends on effective size of aggregate called (D10).

Abstract:

A new Logit model has been developed to estimate to parking price and elasticities of passenger cars. As a case study Tehran metropolitan area have been determined. Different trip purposes such as work, education, shopping and leisure trips have been modeled separately a wide range of pricing strategies have been analyzed to represent the changes on modal share and utilizing the elasticity estimates. The elasticity of passenger car travel with respect to parking pricing is estimated. The analysis show that the model parameters for each trip purposes vary significantly due to driver's behavior. Driver's reaction to changes in parking costs is estimated to be Likely higher in work trips comparing with other trips. Results show that pricing policies are relatively ineffective for increasing transit modal share in Tehran metropolitan areas, however parking regulations or pricing policies, have been considered to be effective in reducing share passenger car share dramatically, particularly in work trips.

Abstract:

Conditional on winning tenders to provide a proposed price is right. Contracting company after the initial estimated cost of a project in terms of some matters, the price adds to the initial estimate. The added cost or mark-ups of several factors take effect. This paper reviews previous research and also taking advantage of Experts on the size of the factors that mark-ups were effective surveys to identify with the contractors working in the Islamic Azad University, Science and Research with their importance factors acquires. Then the turnover and success criteria in tenders and former net profit achieved in past projects in terms of their size and in terms of success of different groups to share and finally enjoying a successful and profitable model of contractors votes Mark-up to achieve optimal offers.

Abstract:

A numerical modeling used Flow 3-D commercial code, was prepared to compare with a laboratory analogue of turbidity current. The experimental studies was constructed previously, using a constant head tank and a flume (1200 ´150´75 cm) to produce continuous turbid under flow, where the density difference was produced by addition of kaoline powder to clean water by Hosseini et al.. This numerical model was applied to study kinematics structure of turbidity current, calculating the velocity profile and mean velocity Result shows the velocity distribution can be reasonably well represented by experimental observations.similarity profiles using new characteristic length scale. From these measurements, some characteristic ratio such as mean velocity, and maximum layer average velocity have been obtained that show good agreement with previous experimental study. These results allow a rough estimation of flow structure in the body of turbidity current. Finally, the effect of discharge and concentration on hydrodynamic structure of turbidity currents was studied. The differences between numerical and experimental results are reasonable.

Abstract:

In the recent years, numerous researches have been conducted in order to determine dams behavior against the seismic loads. New methods and various models were proposed to investigate the dam safety issue. In this paper, a comprehensive approach was used to study the effect of different parameters in analysis of concrete gravity dams. Using the finite element method, staggered method and smeared crack approach, some different seismic analyses were done. Effective parameters in the models are physical properties of concrete like module of elasticity, tensile strength and specific energy. Results show that number of crack profiles in massless foundation increases. On the other hand mass of foundation increases stability of dam-reservoir-foundation systems under dynamic loads.
