Abstract:

Background: Spinal canal stenosis is the most common degenerative disease of the lumbar spine. Sagittal imbalance in degenerative spinal diseases is associated with disability and reduced quality of life. In this study, we examined the effect of lumbar spine laminectomy on improvement in spinopelvic sagittal parameters. Methods: This prospective cohort study was conducted during 2016-2019 at Ghaem and Shahid Kamyab hospitals, Mashhad, Iran. Patients underwent spinal radiography before and after laminectomy, and their spinopelvic sagittal parameters were measured. Data were analyzed using SPSS considering P < 0. 050 statistically significant. Findings: Overall, 46 patients were examined in this study. The mean age was 52. 9 ± 11. 9 years, 29 patients (63%) were men, and 17 (37%) were women. 28 subjects (60. 9%) underwent 3-level and 18 subjects (39. 1%) underwent 4-level laminectomy. Only the lumbar lordosis and sagittal vertical axis (SVA) were significantly changed after the surgery (P < 0. 050). Conclusion: Lumbar canal stenosis disrupted the sagittal and global spinal balance. Multi-level laminectomy improved lumbar lordosis and SVA in lumbar canal stenosis

Abstract:

Background: Female sexual dysfunction is one of the major health problems of women after childbirth. So, the present study was conducted with the aim of localizing the postpartum sexual function and dyspareunia assessment tool (The Carol Scale). Methods: This methodological study was conducted in 2019-2020 on 200 woman during three months after vaginal delivery. The original version of the Carol scale is in Spanish, which after obtaining permission from the tool developer, was translated into Persian using the protocol of forward-backward translation. First, the face and content validity, and then the construct validity, were determined by confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability was determined by the test-retest method as well as the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Data analysis was performed using SPSS and LISREL software. Findings: Structural factor analysis was performed using confirmatory factor analysis, and four factors of original tool were confirmed. The fit of the four-factor model was confirmed ideal fit based on goodness of fit indices. All reliability indices reported good internal consistency and the overall ICC was 0. 793, which indicated the stability or repeatability of the scale over time. Conclusion: The Persian version of the Carol scale has evidence-supporting reliability, validity, and responsiveness; it can be used to assess postpartum sexual function and dyspareunia among Iranian women after vaginal delivery

Abstract:

Background: Given the importance of postpartum mental health, this systematic review study was conducted with the aim to investigate the effects of writing thoughts and feelings on postpartum mental health. Methods: In this systematic review study, Persian and English databases were searched. The keywords were based on Medical subject heading (MeSH) and included "Postpartum Depression", "writing", "Postpartum period" and "Posttraumatic stress disorder", and "Postpartum health", that a combination of keywords searches was performed using Bolin’ s such as AND, OR, and NOT without time limit until September 2020. The articles were qualitatively assessed for inclusion in the study using the latest edition of the CONSORT-2017 checklist. Findings: A total of 275 articles were found as a result of the initial search in databases, of which, 110 were excluded for being repetitive articles, and 142 for the lack of inclusion and exclusion criteria, and after review of full texts of 23 articles, six were included in the study. Findings research showed expressive writing interventions effective in reduction of depression, stress, and symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder. Conclusion: Expressive writing is a good choice for women that reduces the symptoms of posttraumatic stress, and its effectiveness for depression has been significant. Therefore, it is suggested that in the future, more clinical trial studies should examine the effectiveness of longer, more frequent, and more targeted written interventions
