Abstract: 

Objectives: The Internet has become a major source of health information and potentially offers many benefits to both human health and companion animal health. Pet keeping has been accepted as a new phenomenon in Iran, and people who feel responsible and attached to their pets seek information about pet’ s healthcare. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the online health information seeking behavior of pet owners in Iran. Methods: A random sample of pet owners who were referred to Aran veterinary clinic in Tehran, Iran was evaluated using a Kogan et al. (2012) questionnaire on pet health information behavior on the Internet. Results: Most clients use the Internet to look for pet health information, including subjects such as behavioral and nutritional issues, nutrition and diet, and health and disease prevention. They consider the Internet as a complementary source to veterinarians and consult with vets to assess the accuracy of the information they had found. Pet health information on the Internet has influenced owners understanding of pet health, increased their ability to talk with the vet, and help them with pet health related decision making process. Conclusion: Considering the online health information seeking behavior of pet owners and its impact on veterinary services, recommendations have been made, including cooperation between information specialists and veterinarians.

Abstract: 

Purpose: In recent decades, Information seeking behavior has been the subject of many studies and resulted different offered models; e. g., traditional, systematical, user-oriented, task-oriented and linear models. The main goal of this paper was to study Foster non-linear model as a new approach in contrast to previous offered models. Design/Methodology/Approach: This Survey research was conducted by a questionnaire that developed by the researcher based on existing criteria at the Foster’ s thesis (2003). Total of 110 questionnaires were distributed and 105 of them were returned. Findings: The results showed different levels of correspondence in interdisciplinary and single-disciplinary researcher’ s information-seeking behavior with Foster’ s non-linear model in general and also with the contexts and triple core processes, too. The hypothesis test showed a significant difference in the the level of information seeking behavior matching between the two groups of studied researchers with the model. Conclusion: There is an essential need to review this model, especially in determining the weight and importance of each core processes and contexts in modeling the information seeking process.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between organizational culture and knowledge sharing of inside and outside of the organization among the librarians of the public libraries of Shiraz Metodology: The research method is mixed (quantitative and qualitative) and using survey. The statistical population of the study included all librarians working in public libraries of Shiraz (195 persons) and sampling was not carried out due to population size limitation and all of them were considered as the statistical population. The analyzes were done using Amos Graphics, SPSS16, and descriptive and inferential statistics including frequency and Pearson correlation coefficient test. Results: According to assessment of 12 percent of respondents, the status of organizational culture and the sharing of knowledge is appropriate and according to assessment of %48 is inappropriate. Conclusion: Organizational culture has a definitive meaningful relationship with the knowledge sharing of inside and outside of the organization.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The aim of this research study was to determine the information literacy of students and its relation with education and demographic variables. Methodology: In this applied study quantitative approach and survey method was used. Research instrument was a questionnaire validated by Davarpanah and Siamak (2000). Population of the study was undergraduate students of Knowledge and Information Science in Azarbaijan Shahid Madani university. Data analysis was done using descriptive and inferential parametric statistics and SPSS Findings: Information literacy score for second year, junior and senior students was a little more than midpoint. Information literacy score of freshman students was lower than midpoint. Based on independent T test, there was significant difference in mean score of information literacy between girl and boy students. Based on ANOVA test there was significant difference in mean score of information literacy based on entrance year of the students. Result of the Pearson correlation showed that there was positive and significant relation between Grade Point Average (GPA) of students and their information literacy score. Result of ANOVA test showed that there was no significant difference in mean score of information literacy among three groups of students based on their type of diploma. Conclusion: Based on the findings it can be concluded that information literacy of freshman students was lower than three other groups. The students who had better GPA, they also had higher information literacy. Although, the mean score of information literacy for students was above the midpoint, but with considering their field of study, it was unpleasant.

Abstract: 

Purpose: This study was carried to assess the service quality of Central Library at University of Tehran to identify the library services needed to improve. Methodology: In this study, a descriptive survey method was used to collect data. From 31, 000 research population at University of Tehran, 205 users were selected for study sample. LibQual was the tool to measure the different levels of service quality perceptions of library users. Findings: Research findings for service effect criteria showed that the level of received services by users of central library in Tehran University were higher than the users’ minimum expectation, indicating users’ satisfaction. For two criterias of information control and library as place, users were satisfied by service level that was also higher than users’ minimum expectation. The users’ minimum expectation has been provided for all groups of library users for the criteria of service effect. The received services for undergraduate students were lower than their expectation. For the criteria of library as a place, provided services was lower in compare to PhD students’ expectation. The received services by all investigated groups in all 3 criteria have been lower than the maximum expectation level. Credit/Value: The study is important for use of LibQual to distinguish the gap among users perception for Library services and specify strengths and drawbacks of library.

Abstract: 

Objective: This research aims to identify and analyze of standards, criteria and indicators to assess and measure the study's per capita based on documentary studies and consensus of experts that conducted the areas of study. Methodology: Survey and documentary study was used in this research. Also, parts of the research, based on the literature, has studied indicators used to calculate per capita. Information needed for this study was obtained by taking notes from sources that are generally related to the study. The Delphi method was used in this research. In the Delphi method, including common tools for collecting data, a questionnaire is used to gather experts ideas collect information and fulfil research needs. The statistical society was consisted of 10 experts. The main factor in choosing the sample has been known as being exports study, having essays written, experience in management and per capita or being member of measurement committee of per capita studying. Results: In the first round of questioning, 87 indicators were collected; 5 indicators about definitions, 5 indicators of reading non-school and school (education) and 2 indicators studies with the use of career resources index, 7 indicators of a book material (book, magazines and newspapers), 11 indicators non-book material paper, 6 indicators non-paper book material, (visual only), 36 indicators non-paper book material (audiovisual), 6 indicators as indicators of intermediary, 4 indicators as based on library (entrance) and 5 indicators as publications indicators were selected. The indicators results of the first round showed that more than 50% of experts in the selection of 53 indicators, have agreed to hand over these indicators. Overall, this model consists of 4 components which form the structural, systematic and precise measurements per capita for managers, planners and policy makers.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The present study was conducted to investigate the understanding of organizational self image of the librarians of Allameh Tabataba’ i University library services. Methodology: This study is an alytical survey. Participants of this study were 49 librarians of Allameh Tabataba’ i University (ATU). Data was collected through the researcher-made questionnaire based on Lee Blang & Negvin organizational self image model. The validity of the questionnaire was content validity and its reliability was estimated through using Cronbach’ s alpha. The obtained reliability was %78. Results: Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and one sample T test. SPSS software was used to analyze data. The average self image of librarians was 3. 38. The average of librarians self image in respect to identity, fame, service quality, physical environment, and staff behavior are 3. 38, 3. 52, 3. 29, 3. 26, 3. 86 respectively. Findings showed that the librarian’ s understandinf of organizational self image of the university is in a favorable situation.
