Abstract: 

Medical Learning requires clinical experience in dealing with patients along a wide range of their emotional and physical experiences; hence, the opportunity to observe, interview and physical examination is a privilege that is granted to the medical students. Students must be aware of own responsibility towards patients and medical professionals; on the other hand, health systems have not been formulated enough standards and guidelines for patient treatment and education allowance for such training clearly.in this paper we mentioned clinical medical education and tried to introduce the appropriate ethical codes compatible with Iranian social and cultural conditions. According to the social and religious value of medicine,, medical Students are expected to be sensitive to promoting professional attitudes, communication skills and fulfill the expected professional standards during their education. In this paper, codes of ethics and professional standards of clinical training concerning patient, clinical educators, classmates and other members of the medical team in an educational, research and clinical setting were discussed.

Abstract: 

Curriculum as a learning map should have led to a change in behavior, and creates a set of knowledge, thinking, attitudes, values and skills in the person. Empowering university for scanning a meaningful and constructive campaign in various evolved future requires the design and implementation of effective programs, hence a major fundamentalchange in the education system in particular as well as society in general should be created. Recognizing the importance of curriculum effectiveness in higher education to achieve the ultimate goals, missions and visions of university; and regarding to the integrity of three-dimensional perspective of internal, external and institutional of effectiveness; and due to its applicability to measuring the effectiveness of the curriculum in higher education for better and more comprehensive understanding of curriculum; the present study examined three aspects of the effectiveness of the curriculum in interdisciplinary higher education. Regarding the effectiveness of the curriculum from the three dimensions of internal, external and institutional, it can provide coherent framework for achieving the essential goals of educational program. The result of study showed that creating a balance and coherence between the internal factors as well as creating harmony and balance between the intended, implemented and achieved curriculum in relation to the environment, in addition to communicate effectively with dynamic and evolved environment (External effectiveness), consequently, the achievement of missions and fundamental desirability in medical education curriculum (institutional effectiveness) interacting with each other have been observed an absolute necessity.

Abstract: 

It is necessary to determine due date in high risk pregnancies; in the other words, one of the important issues in pregnancy care is to estimate the pregnancy' citrine date. This survey was conducted to design and implement an educational software for determination the pregnancy age based on ultrasound and last menstrual period. It has been produced in three phase; after assessing female staff' needs, design and application of entering ultrasound's date and determining the pregnancy age according to week and day information was performed. An additional advantage was to be utilized by general people and its increase speed and accuracy. Considering increase population policy in today’s society, this program would be possible to plan and calculate newborn date and due discharge date as well as its needless of traditional pen and pape method against to its usable digital and electronic application. Therefore, this modern technique leads to the cure quality improvement and the wasted ime prevention and, in total, it would promote the public health too.

Abstract: 

The present study aimed to investigate the role of psycho-social theory components of Dweck (intelligence beliefs and achievement goals) for prediction the academic procrastination among students. Research method was a descriptive and correlation study. Using classified-random sampling, 375 students (175 female, 200 male) were selected from students of humanities, engineering and medical science colleges at Islamic Azad University, Dezful branch. All the participants were asked to complete the following questionnaires: Procrastination Scale (Lay 1986), Implicit of Intelligence Scale (Abd-El-Fattah and Yates 2006), and Achievement Goal Questionnaire (Elliot and McGregor 2001). Results showed a significant positive relationship between academic procrastination with entity intelligence beliefs, performance-approach goals, and performance-avoidance goals. Also, there was a negative significant relationship between procrastination with incremental intelligence beliefs and mastery-approach goals (P<0.01). The results of stepwise Regression showed that the variables mastery-approach goal, performance-approach goal, and incremental intelligence belief could predict the academic procrastination.

Abstract: 

Learning environment is a physical or virtual context in which learning occurs. The learning environment is an important determinant of behavior. The aim of this study was to express the significance and necessity of learning environment. Additionally, the identification of instruments that measure the learning environment and also the ways for promotion the learning environment was the utmost importance. By present research, some databases including SID, Iranmedex, Irandoc, and Magiran were reviewed; on the other hand, Pubmed and Eric databases were searched using key words such as learning environment, educational environment, and educational climate. The results of this study were also categorized in three sections including; the importance and necessity of the learning environment (the impact on students’ behavior, academic achievement, and the success in learning, a comprehensive view about the process of education, and so on); learning instruments that measure the learning environment (MSLES, LEQ, MSEQ, DREEM, MSEI, Mini-STEEM, and so on); and the ways for promotion the learning environment (the role of managers, faculty, and the physical environment in enhancing the learning environment. One reason for an emphasis on the learning environment was its impact on academic achievement. It should be noted that important instruments have been designed for measuring the learning environment but these instruments are not applicable for measuring all elements of educational environment. As a result, every faculty should be familiar with this instrument in order to assess the class environment for promoting this environment.

Abstract: 

Motivations of specialty choice can affect on satisfaction and academic performance of student and provide commitment for career-related jobs. This study carried out to assessmedical residents’ motivations for specialty choices and their satisfaction in Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 430 medical residents by census method in the 1392. The data was gathered by a self-administrated questionnaire include 24 items. Validity and reliability of the questionnaires were confirmed. The data was analyzed by SPSS software using mean, frequency t-test and chi-square tests. Out of 430 medical residents, 219 (52%) were men and 310 (75%) were married with an average age 34.8±4.9 years. The most important reasons for choice of specialty were “provide better service, increase knowledge and personal Interest” with averages 4.45, 4.39 and 4.36 respectively. The factors “Easiness and being comfortable, lack of urgency and stress were less important motives for choice of specialty with means 2.33 and 2.50 respectively.284 (66.7%) of participants were satisfied special field and 142 (33.3%) were not satisfied. Statistically significant differences were not seen in satisfactions’ residents between age, gender and marital status. The findings of this study can be used by health care stakeholders to identify motivates and interest for specialty choices help medical residents for study direction.

Abstract: 

The mobile phones play a main role in developing wide social communications. Excessive usage of mobile phones can cause a lot of physical and mental problems, and probably affects on different aspects of students lifestyles such as social activities, job duties and Educational status. As educational progression or slump is one of the efficiency criterions for educational system, investigation of effective variables to it seems to be necessary. This study has been performed with analytical epidemiologic method in 1392 among 195 students at Ahwaz Judishapour University of medical science. The accumulation of data was accomplished by general health questionnaire, intensive use of mobile phones questionnaire and mean of 2 previous semesters (for investigation of their educational success); thereafter, the data were analyzed by SPSS software. The results revealed that academic success and the rate of mobile phone usage among females were more than males (p-value=0.015, 0.030); and males had better psychological health status (p-value=0.037). There was not observed any significant correlation between rate of mobile phone usage and educational success (Pearson correlation=-0.015), rather there was a significant correlation among psychological health status and amount of mobile phone usage (spirman rho=0.38). At the other hands, the more usage of mobile phone, the less psychological health for individuals;. moreover, significant correlation between psychological health and academic success was not found. Marriage had no effect on academic achievement and psychological health, and not be related to the usage rate of mobile phones.

Abstract: 

The selection of educational field and consequently a career is one of the mostimportant decisions in life, which can satisfy individuals’ material as well as mental needs. This research was conducted to assess the motivations of dental students on choosing their field of study, studying at the Autonomous Campus of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Science (AJUMS). It was a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical research conducted on March 2015. The participants consisted of all 220 students of the Autonomous College of Dentistry where they were accepted through the nationwide-university-entrance examination, and they also had to pay a relatively high tuition. From participants who received the questionnaires, 58 (22 male and 36 female) completed the questionnaires. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean, Kolmogorov - Smirnov test, Mann-Whitney nonparametric comparison of means and SPSS software version 21 were utilized. Having an independent office (0.53±3.59), acquiring a proper social status (0.88±3.17) and achieving a high economic income (0.82±3.09) were respectively the main reasons for the students’ choice. Given the high unemployment rate of university graduates as well as the employment restrictions through governmental and private organizations, it seems that dentistry serves as a reliable and independent income, giving a social prestige and qualities like these would be the most important incentives of the applicants in choosing dentistry as their future ideal field of study.

Abstract: 

Civic and hospital pharmacy clerkship are two most important courses of pharmacy education which lead to skill acquisition in offering pharmaceutical care services. In this descriptive-cross sectional study, these courses (including elementary, in field (2 levels) and hospital pharmacy clerkships) were presented to all students of one class with a new method. At the end, the satisfaction rates were assessed by a questionnaire at the end of educational year in2014. The questionnaire’s validity and reliability were tested beforehand. The results showed that 45% of the students reported high and very high acquired skills. Most of the students (29 out of 40) announced that community pharmacy in field (level 1) training method had met their expectations. According to the result, a combination of theoretical and practical training (e.g. manual education along with practical training appropriated to the number of students in pharmacy) can raise the satisfaction of students.

Abstract: 

Research is a representative of developed countries; todays, it is one of the most important developmental factors. Moreover, research leadership is one of the main principles of higher education system. Emphasizing the research leads to progress as well as real autonomy, while ignoring it leads to considerable costs. The present study aimed to determine the students' views concerning the barriers of research. The research methodology was descriptive-analytic one; of 2263 participants, 332 students were selected by stratified random sampling. The data collection tool was questionnaire of Arak Medical University, and it contained 29 questions to be answered by students with research experience (Cronbach’s alpha 84%) and 18 questions without research experience (Cronbach’s alpha 89%). Regarding the research activities in both general and individual aspects, analyzed results by the Mann Whitney and T-test showed that there was no significant difference between students with research experience and students without research experience (Pvalue<0/001). However, there was a significant difference among two groups in organizational field in responding to the question "The lack of research components". Students with experience said the most barriers in organizational field were the Internet accessibility weakness and electronic banks; while in individual field, barriers were mentioned as intensity of curriculum. Besides, students without experience mentioned that the most barriers in organizational field were weakness in encouragement system; and in individual aspect, barriers were the intensity of weakness in encouragement system; whereas, barriers were intensity of curriculum. However, toward gender segregation, degree and level of study no significant relationship was observed. According to the importance of research, considering the prioritization of research barriers seems necessary.

Abstract: 

The aim of present study was to examine the mediating role of emotional schemas between the attachment styles and attentional bias. Research design was Correlation; and study population included all university students at Shiraz University during academic year 1392-93. For this purpose, 250 students (125 female and 125 male) participated in the study through the convenient sampling approach. Moreover, research tools included Attachment Style Questionnaire (Besharat, 1384), revised emotional schemas scale (Shahvarani, 1393), and visual Dot Probe task. In order to analyze the data, the path analysis method by AMOS21 was used. Then, the results showed that ambivalent attachment style among attachment styles as well as emotional schema of perception and control, acceptance and general Agreement among emotional schemas indirectly predicted attention bias significantly too. Moreover, rationalization of Emotional schemas and simplification of emotion significantly were predicted by Avoidance and Secure attachment styles. Finally it became clear that the three emotional schemes of perception and control, acceptance and general agreement had a full mediating role in prediction of attention bias to threatened face based on ambivalent attachment style.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between rate of dimensions of learning organization with knowledge management in personnel’s and managers. The population was all of personnel’s and managers at Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences (AJUMS). The sample population consisted of 180 personnel’s and managers; they were selected through simple random sampling; and the used scales were included Learning Organization questionnaire and Knowledge Management questionnaire. The method of research was a correlation method. The data were also analyzed by using one sample t-test, Pearson coefficient correlation, and Multivariable Regression. The results showed that five dimensions consist of personal mastery, mental models, building shared vision, team learning and systems thinking were lower than the average. In addition, the result indicated the significant positive relation existed between these five dimensions with knowledge management. Moreover, the stepwise regression indicated that system thinking and mental models were the proper independent variables of knowledge management that was a dependent variable.

Abstract: 

Students are regarded as one of the main pillars of university, and hence their satisfaction with the activities carried out at university can be queitly essential for their attitude towards their discipline in order to preserve as well as to promote the quality of effective education. Therefore, this study aimed to examine students’ attitude in regard to education and also the evaluation of endodontic department of Yazd Shahid Sadoughi Dental School in 2013_2014. This cross-sectional study was conducted on all students who had selected practical endodontic units in 2013-2014 (census method). In order to glean the research data, a standardized questionnaire was utilized on which the reliability and validity have been substantiated. Moreover, the study' data were analyzed by applying statistical tests of ANOVA and independent T-test. Then, the study' results revealed that the satisfaction rate of female students was reported less than the amount mentioned by male students in regard with the personnel, and the difference was observed to be significant (P>0.05). Furthermore, transfer students’ satisfaction level was more than the two other quotas at selecting units, department facilities, instructors, and evaluations. In addition, students of 4th-Practical-endodontic units demonstrated less satisfaction except for evaluation compared to other cases. In general, the highest satisfaction level belonged to the capacity-supplimantary students, whereas the lowest rate of satisfaction was found in the dental students. Students of forth-practical-Endodontic units were less satisfied in coparison to those students of other Endo units. Overall, Endo satisfaction lied at low level.
