Although “Barbarian” is amongst the key concepts which have frequently been used in historiography texts, it has not been cogitated and considered. This concept is so self-explanatory in human’s common sense that historians had never thought about it. Therefore, rethinking these concepts is essential. Hence the aim of the present article is to cogitate about this idiom based on Husserlian phenomenology. At first, it separated from priori conventional assumptions of historians such as Christiansen, Bosworth, Grousset, Morgan, etc., and then the noema and noesis were recognized. Now, what is the meaning and implication of the concept of Barbarian which we should gain its true essence by epoching it? Through studying the so-called “Barbarian” society in historiographical studies, it has been specified that their noema was “Bedouins” and civilized people has concocted the idiom, “Barbarian”. The present article studies the concoction of the concept of Barbarian and tries to disclose the concept phenomenon of this term.
