The aim of the present research was to compare personality disorders in athletes who were anabolic androgenic steroids consumers and non-consumer athletes.The population of this study comprised all the body builders who were anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) consumers and non-consumers who were inhabitants in Kermanshah province. Regarding the design of the present study which was causal-comparative, 25 participants for each group, and totally 75 participants were selected. Consumer athletes were sampled randomly and the other group through matching method (according to their age, gender, marital status, & education). The instruments were a researcher-made questionnaire for determining the demographic characteristics, and Millon’s Clinical Multiaxial Inventory for assessing personality disorders. In order to identify those individuals who were consumers, interview was carried out. The statistical method for analysis of data in this study was MANOVA. The findings indicated that among the personality disorders under study, consumers obtained higher scores compared to the other group in respect of histrionic, narcissistic, obsessive-compulsive and paranoid disorders. Therefore it can be concluded those who were anabolic androgenic steroids consumers are more susceptible to personality disorders than non-consumers.
