Background and Aim: The researches show that there is a relationship between sports and corrective exercises, with deformity and pains in the body. One of the common deformities among school and university students is uneven shoulders, but the effect of doing exercises on this deformity has not been investigated separately. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of eight-week corrective exercises program on the pain and degree of uneven shoulder deformity in female university students.Materials and methods: students that suffered uneven shoulder deformity were selected and fifty students with the average age of 24.06±2.58, the average height of 1.62±0.06, the average weight of 55.56±8.8 and the average body mass index (BMI) of 21.32±3 were randomly selected and filled out the consent form. After that, uneven shoulder’s degree was measured by an Angulometer and the amount of pain was measured by VAS (Visual Analog Scales). The participants were divided into two homogeneous experimental and control groups according to the degree of shoulder unevenness, height, weight, and body mass index. The experimental group carried out the therapeutic corrective Protocol consisting of traction-strength exercises for eight weeks, three days a week and after doing corrective exercises the pain and degree of uneven shoulder deformity in the two groups was measured again. Results: Data analysis showed that in the experimental group, before and after eight weeks of corrective exercises, there was a significant difference at the level of P£0.05 in the degree of shoulder unevenness and shoulder pain. Moreover, there was a significant difference in the amount of pain and degree of shoulder unevenness, after applying the exercise protocol on experimental and control groups. Conclusion: The results show that selected corrective exercises are effective in reducing pain and correcting uneven shoulder deformity.

Background and Aim: Asthma shows itself by airways narrowing. Sport exercises are main part of the pulmonary rehabilitation program. This study designed to investigate the effects of the rebound therapy and aerobic training on clinical symptoms and happiness in Asthmatic patients.Materials and Methods: 30 male patients with Asthma were participant in this semi-experimental research and randomly divided into two experimental groups (rebound therapy group (10 people) and aerobic group (10 people) and one control group (10 people). After explaining the project and signing a formal contest, the subjects started their special training under supervision of an exercise expert for 8weeks, three sessions a week. During the two sessions before and after workouts in this research clinical symptoms was measured by Daytime symptom diary scale questions and happiness was measured with Oxford happiness questionnaire (OHQ). Repeated measure ANOVA was used to statistical analysis with a =0.05.Results: Findings showed that the group within changes in both variables and groups interaction in happiness was significant (P<0.05) but in clinical symptoms interaction was not significant (P>0.05). No significant between groups differences during testing times in variables were other outcomes (P>0.05).Conclusion: It seems that the rebound therapy exercise can used as a useful complementary method to reduce some problems in patients with asthma.

Background and aim: the aim of this case study was to identify the appropriateness of ergonomic characteristics of outdoor “lat”, “bench press” and “leg press” machines with men anthropometrical parameters.Materials and Methods: the data are used for this study was outdoor (park space) fitness equipment and male age over 20 years old among Tehranian citizen. The variables were included dimensions of the outdoor equipment, and anthropometrical parameters of the sample subjects. Moreover, the plummet, engineering meters, rulers, norma and static anthropometric kit (Caliper) for measuring of the anthropometric devices and users (according to Pheasant principle) was used. Then according to ergonomic and fitness standards, exercise science, biomechanics and posture on park equipment, fitness devices have been evaluated. Descriptive statistics and one-sample t-test (parametric test) and binomial test (nonparametric test) were used to describing the Data and test hypotheses. Results: there was a significant differences between dimensions of outdoor equipment used in this study and optimal anthropometrical parameters of male users (P<0.05).Conclusion: The results indicated that the outdoor fitness equipment could not be considered as an ergonomic device for male users in terms of anthropometry. So it should be find some ways to do standardize for this equipment.

Abstract:

Background and aim: The common methods to evaluate mechanical efficiency include metabolic cost assessment and calculation of mechanical energy fluctuations. However, these methods are limited to aerobic activities as well as time consuming, and limit subject motions. The purpose of this study were 1) to present a new method in calculating mechanical efficiency by using resultant work approach and, 2) to assessed its reliability.Materials and Methods: 16 active, normal, healthy male students were selected in this study. Kinematics and kinetics variables, as well as, metabolic cost were recorded using cameras (JVC, 200 HZ), a force plate (Kistler, 1000 HZ) and K4b2 gas analysis device, respectively. Mechanical efficiency in the new approach was calculated dividing work on COM by the total mechanical energy. Work on COM was assessed using point-mass method, and the total mechanical energy was calculated by inverse dynamic approach. Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to test research hypothesis (p£0.05).Results: A significant correlation wasn't observed between mechanical efficiency in the common method and mechanical efficiency in the new method (r=0.31, p=0.26).Conclusion: The finding indicats that calculated resultant work approach in one step of gait cannot be an indicator of mechanical efficiency.

Abstract:

Background and aim: The aim of this study was to compare the balance (dynamic and static) and reaction time (simple and choice) in national elite male Kata and Kumite players and related profile form.Materials and Methods: For this reason 30 national elite male karate players (15 athletes from Kata and 15 athletes from Kumite) were randomly selected. Study design was the causal comparative research. For the evaluation of static, dynamic balance and simple & choice reaction time used the stork, SEBT and four directional systems respectively. Descriptive and inferential test used for statistical analysis. Independent t-test used for the data analysis in level (P£0.05).Results: The results showed that: The Kata players had better static balance than Kumite player (P=0.001). And the Kata players had better dynamic balance than Kumite player (P=0.001). Also the Kata and Kumite players were equal in simple reaction time (P=0.652). At least the Kata and Kumite players were equal in choice reaction time (P=0.126).Conclusion: Finally we found that the balance is more important to Karate athletes than reaction time for choice between Kata and Kumite.

Abstract:

Background and Aim: One of the most important factors in balance are anthropometric characteristics such as height, weight, environment and width of limbs and skin fold. Present study aims at investigating the relationship between anthropometric parameters with static, semi-dynamic and dynamic balance at different levels of difficulty in ectomorph, endomorph non athletic women.Materials and methods: To this aim, 25 ectomorph woman with the average and standard deviation of age: 26.00±1.51 yrs, height: 166.9±1.14 cm and weight: 46.99±3.27 kg and 25 endomorph woman with the average and standard deviation of age: 27.32±2.13 yrs, height: 161.13±6.37 cm and weight: 58.28±8.46 kg in good condition of general health, voluntarily participated as subjects in this semi-experimental study. Anthropometric measures like height and weight and balance separately were calculated for each sample. We used descriptive statistics for measuring SD and mean and correlation coefficient Pearson inferential statistics for investigating relationship between selective anthropometric parameters and different kinds of balance. Results: Body type have influence over type and also exsitance on lack of correlation between people’s balance with anthropometric parameters. Conclusion: Considernig applied methods in this study for increasing motor task we can say in both ectomorph and ednomorph body types, somatotype when base of support is too much limited, it mean when the width of both soles reach to width of non-dominant toe, there is no relation between static balance and anthropometric parameters (used in this research).
