Abstract: 

Introduction: Anxiety is one of the most common psychiatric disorders in patients with cancer, and is very important in nursing. This study aimed at determining multimedia orientation tour on anxiety of patients with thyroid cancer receiving iodine therapy at Imam Khomeini Hospital complex of Tehran, during year 2017. Methods: This study was quasi-experimental, in which a pretest-posttest plan with a control group was used. All of the patients with thyroid cancer on iodine therapy, who referred to Imam Khomeini Hospital complex of Tehran in the first six months of 2017, were the statistical research community. Fifty patients were selected based on the inclusion criteria and purposive sampling method and randomly divided to two groups of experimental and control by using a table of random numbers. For the intervention group, the multimedia orientation tour was done through pamphlets and a video for 20 minutes. Patients filled Beck Spielberger's State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) before and after the intervention. The SPSS statistical software SPSS 19 was used and chi-square, Fisher's exact test, and independent t-test and paired T were performed. Results: Results showed no difference between the two groups of intervention and control regarding demographic characteristics. The mean anxiety score was 96. 7 ± 6. 92 in the intervention group, and 97. 5 ± 3. 66 in the control group before the intervention, which respectively reached 74. 00 ± 8. 84 and 96. 3 ± 4. 3 after implementation of the intervention, and this difference was significant in the intervention group (P ≤ 0. 001). Conclusions: According to the results, it could be said that the multimedia orientation tour is effective in reducing anxiety in patients with thyroid cancer on iodine therapy. Therefore, it can be applied as a simple, non-invasive, low-cost and effective tool for reducing anxiety in patients with thyroid cancer on iodine therapy.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Physical activity, such as group sports activities and extracurricular activities at schools, could increase social well-being. The aim of this study was to compare self-efficacy and life satisfaction in active and inactive students. Methods: The statistical population of the study consisted of first and second grade males from Euclid city high schools. Out of 230 students (117 active and 113 disabled) with a mean age of 14. 88 ± 1. 27, stratified random sampling was used to select a statistical sample. Data were collected by Muris Self-Efficacy Dimensions Questionnaire (2001), Karwowski Self-efficacy (2010), and Hyv Bnr Life Satisfaction (2001). Data was analyzed using the SPSS software version 22 with independent t-test and Mann-Whitney U test. Also a significant level of P ≤ 0. 05 was considered. Results: The findings of this study showed significant difference in educational self-efficacy (p = 0. 0001), social (P = 0. 007), emotional (P = 0. 001), and creative variables (P = 0. 033) and life satisfaction (P = 0. 0001) between active and inactive students. Conclusions: According to the results of this research, it could be said that, considering the role and importance of sports activities, especially group sports activities, in social development of students, education can be achieved by creating group sports activities at sports clubs under the supervision of education. This could allow growth of individuals and the growth of their personality traits.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Eating disorder is a one of the worst health factors and one of the psychological pathology disorders that has a significant negative effect on physical and psychological functioning. The aim of this research was to investigate the role of perfectionism, cognitive emotion regulation strategies, and sleep quality in predicting nursing students’ eating disorder. Methods: This study had a cross-sectional and correlation design. The research population included the nursing students’ of Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz branch in year 2017 to 2018, from whom 210 students (29 males and 181 females) were selected by the stratified random sampling method. The research instruments included questionnaires of perfectionism, cognitive emotion regulation strategies, sleep quality, and eating disorder. Data was analyzed by Pearson correlation and multiple regression with enter model methods and using the SPSS-21 software. Results: Positive perfectionism (r =-0. 263) and positive cognitive emotion regulation strategies (r =-0. 541) had a negative and significant relationship with nursing students’ eating disorder and negative perfectionism (r = 0. 339), negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies (r = 0. 465), and undesirable sleep quality (r = 0. 227) had a positive and significant relationship with nursing students’ eating disorder. In addition, the predictive variables could significantly predict 54% of variance of nursing students’ eating disorder (P < 0. 01). Conclusions: The results indicated the importance of perfectionism, cognitive emotion regulation strategies, and sleep quality in predicting nursing students’ eating disorder. Therefore, in order to reduce nursing students’ eating disorder, the rate of positive cognitive emotion regulation strategies must be improved and then based on the role of other variables, appropriate programs should be designed and implemented.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Medicine and its proper administration are one of the basic steps in nursing that requires use of knowledge, techniques, and skills. One of the most common medical errors is medication errors. The present study was conducted in order to assess medication errors and its relevant factors in nurses of Imam Khomeini Hospital of Saghez. Methods: This descriptive analytical study was conducted on 210 nurses of Imam Khomeini Hospital of Saghez in 2018 using the census sampling method. Demographic form, the medication error and the Factor affecting medication error questionnaires were used in order to collect the data. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 16 software, descriptive statistics, T test, Chi-square and Fischer’ s exact test when appropriate. P < 0. 05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The results showed that 104 nurses had medication errors in the last six months and the rate of infusion was the most common medication errors among nurses. The amount of medication error had a correlation with work experience, overtime work, and the type of work shift. The results also showed that among dimensions affecting medication error, patient and condition of the ward, personal and psychological conditions, medicine and doctors gained the highest score. Conclusions: According to the high prevalence of medication errors among nurses, and also involvement of dimensions affecting medication errors, such as patient and condition of the ward, and personal and psychological conditions, it is needed for managers to provide standard conditions, such as proportion of nurses to patients ratio and continues educations.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Transsexualism is a gender identity disorder, in which the individual believes that their psychological gender is in contrast with their anatomic status. They have a strong desire to be like the opposite gender and they like to be accepted in the society as a unique gender. The aim of the present study was the comparison of Hope Inventory and Body image of Transsexual Individuals, with and without reassignment surgery. Methods: The research method was ex-post method, including 25 individuals without reassignment surgery and 25 with reassignment surgery, selected through simple random sampling method and snowball method during year 2016 at the center of Dey clinic reassignment surgery in Mirdamad boulevard of Tehran. From the 25 people without reassignment surgery 14 were male and 11 were female and of the 25 people with reassignment surgery 12 were male and 13 were female. Data collection tools was Snyder hope inventory and Kash body image questionnaires. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistical tests as manual multivariate analysis of multivariate analysis and utilized by the SPSS software version 21. Results: Concerning the will and motivation sub scales of the hope inventory, it was indicated that there was a significant difference in sub-scale of motivation (F = 5. 071 P = 0. 029) between the two groups of participants. However, there was no difference between will in transsexual individuals with and without reassignment surgery (F =2. 288 P=0. 137). Moreover, there was a significant difference in body image sub scale of motivation (F = 5. 071 P = 0. 029) between the two groups. However, regarding the sub scale of body image in apparent (F =2. 909 P = 0. 095) and proportional (F = 1. 446 P = 0. 235) dimensions, there was no difference in transsexual individuals with and without reassignment surgery. Conclusions: The findings showed that individuals suffered gender identity disorder and performed reassignment surgery to obtain a clearer body image and showed increased hope inventory score when compared with before the reassignment surgery. These two psychological elements should be considered in working and therapy with transsexuals. However, further research on the subject is required.

Abstract: 

مقدمه: فعالیت های بدنی از قبیل فعالیت های ورزشی گروهی و فعالیت فوق برنامه در مدارس می توانند موجبات رشد و سلامت اجتماعی را فراهم آورد. هدف این پژوهش مقایسه خودکارآمدی و رضایت از زندگی در دانش آموزان فعال و غیرفعال بود. روش کار: کلیه دانش آموزان پسر مقطع دوره اول و دوره دوم دبیرستان های شهرستان اقلید در سال تحصیلی 1396-1395 جامعه آماری این پژوهش توصیفی (علی-مقایسه ای) را تشکیل می دادند که از بین آنها 230 نفر (117 نفر فعال و 113 نفر غیر فعال) به روش تصادفی طبقه ای به عنوان نمونه آماری انتخاب شدند. به منظور جمع آوری اطلاعات از پرسش نامه های ابعاد خودکارآمدی موریس (2001)، خودکارآمدی خلاق کارووسکی (2010) و رضایت از زندگی هیوبنر (2001) استفاده شد. به منظور تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها از نرم افزار SPSS نسخه 22 و آزمون های t مستقل و u مان-ویتنی استفاده شد و سطح معنی داری 05/0 در نظر گرفته شد. یافته ها: یافته های پژوهش نشان داد که خودکارآمدی تحصیلی (0001/0 = P)، اجتماعی (007/0 = P)، ، عاطفی (001/0 = P)، و خلاق (033/0 = P)، و نیز رضایت از زندگی (0001/0 = P)، بین دانش آموزان فعال و غیرفعال تفاوت معناداری دارد و در دانش آموزان فعال بیشتر از دانش آموزان غیر فعال است. نتیجه گیری: بر اساس نتایج تحقیق می توان گفت با توجه به نقش و اهمیت فعالیت های ورزشی خصوصا فعالیت های ورزشی گروهی در رشد اجتماعی دانش آموزان، آموزش و پرورش می تواند با ایجاد زمینه های انجام فعالیت های ورزشی گروهی در باشگاه های ورزشی، زمینه رشد اجتماعی هرچه بیشتر افراد و رشد ویژگی های شخصیتی آن ها را مهیا کند.

Abstract: 

مقدمه: اضطراب یکی از شایعترین اختلالات روانشناختی در بیماران مبتلا به سرطان می باشد که توجه به آن در پرستاری بسیار حائز اهمیت است. هدف این مطالعه تعیین تاثیر تور آشناسازی چند رسانه ای بر اضطراب بیماران مبتلا به سرطان تیروئید کاندیدید تراپی مجتمع بیمارستانی امام خمینی (ره) تهران در سال 1396 می باشد. روش کار: مطالعه حاضر از نوع شبه تجربی با گروه شاهد بود. جامعه آماری کلیه بیماران مبتلا به سرطان تیروئید تحت ید تراپی در مجتمع بیمارستانی امام خمینی (ره) تهران در نیمه اول سال 1396 بود. از طریق روش نمونه گیری مبتنی بر هدف و بر اساس معیارهای ورود 50 نفر انتخاب و به صورت تصادفی با استفاده از بلوک تصادفی شده در دو گروه مداخله و شاهد قرار گرفتند. برای گروه مداخله تور آشناسازی چند رسانه ای از طریق فیلم ویدئویی و پمفلت به مدت 21 دقیقه و 8 ثانیه انجام شد. نمونه ها قبل و بعد از مداخله، پرسشنامه اضطراب اشپیل برگر را تکمیل کردند. داده ها با نسخه 19 نرم افزار آماری SPSS و با استفاده از آزمون های آماری کای اسکوئر، دقیق فیشر، تی مستقل و زوجی تجزیه و تحلیل شدند. یافته ها: نتایج نشان داد که بین دو گروه مداخله و شاهد از نظر توزیع متغیرهای زمینه ای تفاوتی وجود نداشت. میانگین میزان اضطراب قبل از مداخله درگروه مداخله (92/6 ± 7/96) و در گروه شاهد (66/3 ± 5/97) بود که بعد از مداخله در گروه مداخله به (84/8 ± 00/74) و در گروه شاهد به (6/4 ± 3/96) رسید و این اختلاف در گروه مداخله معنی دار بود (001/0 > P). نتیجه گیری: با توجه به نتایج به دست آمده می توان ذکر نمود که تور آشناسازی چندرسانه ای در کاهش میزان اضطراب بیماران مبتلا به سرطان تیروئید کاندیدید تراپی موثر است. بنابراین می توان روش به کار گرفته شده در پژوهش حاضر را به عنوان یک روش ساده، غیر تهاجمی، کم هزینه و موثر در کاهش اضطراب بیماران مبتلا به سرطان تیروئید کاندیدید تراپی را به پرستاران پیشنهاد نمود.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Regarding the relatively high prevalence of obsessive-compulsive disorder and its cost-effectiveness, it is imperative that diagnosis and timely treatment are urgently needed. Over the past few decades, many studies have been conducted to identify psychological factors involved in the onset and continuation of this disorder. The current study aimed at comparing perfectionism and thought control strategies in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder and normal individuals. Methods: The research method was causal-comparative. The statistical population of the study included all obsessive-compulsive disorder patients referring to Tehran's health centers, during year 2017. Thirty patients (19 females and 11 males) with obsessive-compulsive disorder and 30 normal subjects were selected based on available sampling and matched according to age, gender, education, and marital status. To collect data, Tehran multi-dimensional perfectionism questionnaire and thought control questionnaire (Wells and Davis, 1994) were used. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods, including multivariate analysis of variance analysis of the SPSS software version 20 at significance level of P < 0. 05. Results: The results of multivariate analysis of variance showed that there was a significant difference between people with obsessive-compulsive disorder and normal individuals in the variables of perfectionism and thought control strategies, so that the mean scores of people with obsessive-compulsive disorder in self-centered perfectionism components, other and community-orientation was more than the normal group (P < 0. 001). Also, in thought control strategies, attention deficit, attention, social control, punishment, and re-evaluation were significantly higher than the normal group (P < 0. 001). Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study, perfectionism and thought control strategies are two cognitive factors that may affect the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder and exacerbate and persist the disorder, and therefore should be the focus of therapeutic interventions. Adjusting perfectionism and replacing adaptive coping strategies instead of maladaptive strategies can help control obsessive symptoms.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Psychological capital is seen as an important force for personal development and improvement of individual performance, accordingly, the present study aims to determine the relationship between psychological capital and educational well-being of nursing students of Gonabad University of Medical Sciences in the academic year of 2016. Methods: The present study was a descriptive cross-sectional correlation study. The study population was all undergraduate nursing students in Gonabad University of Medical Sciences. The statistical sample was stratified random sampling 150 from 220 individuals, based on Morgan table. Data were collected with two criteria of Lutangese psychological capital (Has a subscale; self-efficacy, hope, resilience and optimism) and Petrini's educational well-being. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, regression and independent t-test using SPSS20 software. Results: The findings of the research showed that there is a significant relationship between psychological capital and educational well-being (r = 0. 17, P = 0. 03). There was a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and educational well-being (r = 0. 26, P = 0. 001) and between hope with educational well-being (r = 0 139, P = 0. 04) and between optimism with educational well-being (r = 0. 141, P = 0. 03) There is a positive and significant relationship, Also, multiple regression simultaneously predicts 9% of the variance of academic well-being through psychological capital. Conclusions: Findings of the research showed that psychological capital could predict the student's educational well-being. Therefore, it is suggested that working groups and workshops should be formed to improve the psychological capital and improve the sense of well-being of students by medical students.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Since non-compliance is one of the challenges faced by clinicians working with schizophrenics, and given that the attitude toward treatment is one of critical factors responsible for this non-compliance, it is essential to study this phenomenon and its possible contributing factors. For this reason, this research was designed and conducted to investigate attitude toward hospitalization in these patients. Methods: This was a qualitative research conducted using Interpretational Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The sample was selected using purposive sampling method and all schizophrenic patients who were admitted in acute units of Tehran’ s Raazi Psychiatric Center during year 2018 1st quarter and had participated in a research that examined the effectiveness of the Community Re-entry Program were selected for semi-structured interviews. The sample was comprised of two groups. The validity and reliability of this qualitative research was based on three axes of applicability, stability, and reality basing. Results: The findings from the analysis of the content of patient interviews were summarized in 13 thematic clusters and 5 main themes including "environmental factors, unawareness, knowledge, factors related to self-esteem, and quality of life of patients during hospitalization" in the conventional psychiatric treatment group and 15 thematic clusters and 6 main themes including the above mentioned main themes along with another main theme called "treatment plans" in the Community Re-entry Program. Conclusions: The factors such as environmental restrictions, individual knowledge and nonawareness, self-esteem threats, quality of life during hospitalization, and quality and quantity of treatment plans influenced patients attitude toward hospitalization experience. There was a qualitative difference between patients attitude in the two groups, while the attitude toward hospitalization in the Community Re-entry Program was more positive in general.
