Abstract:

Researches has identified the importance of core training in injury prevention. However, there are limited information about relationship between core stability and swimmer performance. Therefor the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of core stability training on performance of sub elite adolescent swimmers. Thirty male swimmers were randomly allocated in the control (n=15) and intervention (n=15) groups. The intervention group completed the core stability training, three times per week for 8 weeks. Analysis covariance were used for determine the effect of core stability exercise on 50-m front and back crawl, butterfly, and breast-stroke race. The results showed that there was significant difference in time of 50-m front crawl and breast-stroke race, back crawl and butterfly race. According to the results, core muscle strengthening enhanced the performance in young swimmers projected as significant improvements in 50-m front crawl and breast-stroke sprint time.

Abstract:

Introduction: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is one of the most common sport injuries. This study attempts to investigate the effect of neuromuscular training on postural stability and performance of lower extremity in females with ligament dominance. Methods: 24 subjects at risk of ACL injuries selected and were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group was undergoing to six-weeks of neuromuscular training program. Result: The results showed significant differences in lateral center of pressure and performance in experimental group. while no significant difference was observed in control group. Conclusion: The result showed that six weeks of neuromuscular training may improve the COP and performance of women with ligament dominance.

Abstract:

In injury prevention researches as an important part of sport medicine studies, use of recording and surveillances’ system on athletes’ injuries requires fundamental concepts. We have aimed to review some terms such as sport injuries, injury intensity and exposure in articles due to variety and conflict results in definition them. The results showed that sport injury for athlete introduced as any muscular skeletal problem which can lead time lose or medical attention. Injury intensity as number of days’ loss or functional limitation in training and match have introduced. The best definition for exposure was injury per 1000 hours-exposure and 1000 athlete-exposures in training and match.

Abstract:

It seems to etiology, diagnosis of sports injuries, and evaluation of their treatment process for rehabilitation need the measurement of strength, flexibility and alignments of limbs. These measures are only useful when there are sufficient reference values for comparing. The aim of this study was to find out normative values of strength, flexibility, and alignment in lower limbs in recreational runners. 73 healthy runners with an average weight of 73. 13(7. 10) Kg, height of 177. 70(5. 39), age of 22. 58(3. 76) from Mazandaran province participated in this study. Their strength, flexibility and alignments of lower limbs were measured. Strength was normalized to weight. Values more than-2 standard deviations for flexibility and strength and between ± 2 standard deviations for alignment were chosen as normative values. Some results of this study were: the mean of hip muscle extensor strength was 0. 52 of body weight. In addition, hip external rotation ROM and Q angle mean were 63and 13. 15 degree respectively. It seems that our finding (the normative values of aforementioned parameters) provides functional information for rehabilitation and improvement of sport performance.

Abstract:

The childhood is an important period for implementing intervention in order to prevent sport injury. Core stability training is one of them. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of 6 weeks of core stability training on biomechanics of single-leg jump-landing task in active children between 10 to 12 years. 27 children were divided into experimental and control groups. Kinematic and kinetic variables, including ankle angles in sagittal and frontal planes, loading rates, and the maximum vertical ground reaction force, were measured using the motion analysis and force plate. The results show that kinetic variables in the experimental group have a significant change, but no significant change was observed in the ankle kinematics. Regarding the results, it seems that core stability exercises have a positive effect on some of the biomechanical risk factors of jump-landing of immature children.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to compare the coordination and variability of upper limb joints in elite and intermediate young men during Kayak paddling technique. Eight young Kayak paddlers were classified into two elite and intermediate groups. After dividing the stroke cycle into four phases, the mean and variability of continuous relative phase were calculated for each phase. The results of the independent t-test for coordination of joints between the two groups showed significant differences in the shoulder and elbow flexion on the left side in fourth phase and elbow flexion and shoulder abduction at left side in first phase. According to the results, in the all phase, the elite group variability was more in right side than the left, while the intermediate group variability has Irregular patterns. Generally, comparison Continuous Relative Phase and its Variability between elite and intermediate Kayak paddler showed no significant differences.
