This research is for the purpose of surveying students and teachers in order to investigate the use of teaching aids and materials and their role and importance in the teaching process in the course of biology 1 in the academic year 98-99 in Tehran. Educational technology not only does it play a role in science education, but also provides students with a variety of research tasks. The study population includes tenth experimental students in District 9 of Tehran. Sampling method for sample selection is a cluster random method based on multi-stage selection. The research method was survey and questionnaire technique. The results of this study showed that despite the similarity of tools and equipment available in high schools for girls and boys, these two groups have different views on the role of technology in educational processes in biology. Girls showed more interest in using educational technology than boys. Teachers have the necessary skills in using teaching tools and equipment, The most important challenges for students and teachers of biology in the present study include insufficient time to use educational materials, difficulty in coordinating and preparing educational materials related to biology and insufficient proportionality of educational materials with the number of students.
