Nowadays, with the continuous growth of urbanization, various problems have started to grapple the cities more than ever. One of the issues, which is in fact both the cause and effect of many urban problems, is the presence of ancient architectures in the heart of today's cities. The historical sections of cities cannot be considered as an isolated parts and in fact they play important roles in strategic planning the economic, social, and cultural development strategy of the whole city. Protecting these valuable historical sections, such as District 12 of Tehran and especially Oudlajan, provide the identity not only to the historical values and human civilization but also to the national pride and the culture. They are also very vital for maintaining each country security. What is currently important is to revitalize and to maintain safety in the area. But what needs to be considered about regeneration in order to reduce the crime in such areas is the identity of the existed cultural/artistic matters in the neighborhoods. The purpose of this article is to revitalize the existed character of the Imamzadeh Yahya neighborhood in order to promote culture and art and also to reduce crime rate. Analyzing the values of five historic homes in that district and comparing to newly built homes together with survey of the residents revealed that structure degradation, poor quality of buildings, and the presence of demolished or semi-demolished houses have created social damage and anomalies. Therefore, Revitalizing of the neighborhood identity can improve the quality of life, reducing the crime rate for those who reside in these districts.
