Abstract: 

Background and Objective: Paying attention to the quality of academic activities has always been one of the major challenges for universities. In this study, the factors explaining the quality of scientific functions based on the Glassic six-component approach are investigated. Method: The Mixed method was used in this research with qualitative-quantitative approach with deductive content analysis. In the qualitative section, using in-depth and semi-structured interview tools, 20 experts in the field of medical sciences, humanities, basic sciences and engineering were interviewed and until saturation continued. The data were analyzed using content analysis based on Glassic six-component model. The face and content validity of the questionnaire were evaluated by five expertschr('39') view point. 300 faculty members from two universities of Shiraz University, and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences were administered and 265 questionnaires were returned. The reliability of questionnaire was confirmed by Cronbachchr('39')s alpha 96%. The Exploratory and Confirmatory factor analysis were analyzed by Spss 22 and LISREL. Results: in content analysis, 153 codes were extracted. they were summarized and categorizing into 6 main categories, 13 middle components and 29 items. based on factor analyzing, The main factor in explaining quality was chr('39')Knowledge Sharingchr('39') items. Conclusion: It seems that formal mechanisms such as legal frameworks, regulations, evaluation and promotion system, external incentives are needed as the first requirements for the development of scientific functions, but the reliability of quality criteria are effected by hidden factors such as trust, interaction and Commitment.

Abstract: 

Background and Purpose: This study aims to explain and analytically compare the performance-based payment models with an educational approach in the educational and medical centers of Iran. Analysis Methods: This is and applied-developmental research in terms of purpose and the two methods of structure-thematic and the documentary analysis methods have been used. We have used purposive and sequential sampling methods and the theoretical saturation of sampling was achieved in 10 people. The semi-structured interviews were used to collect information about the components of the current payment system. The external inspection and external validity were used to reach the reliability, as well. To analyze qualitative data, the existing model was coded and compiled using Nvivo 12 software. Findings: The findings indicate that among the 22 most influential components in the performance-based payment calculation formula in the Iranian educational and medical centers, only 7 main variables and 5 subcomponents were practically involved and other influential variables such as the category of education is not included in this financial system. Conclusion: In the performance-based payment model in Iran, despite physicians and staff in the educational and medical centers allocate most of their working time to the student education, there is not a large difference in the payment method based on the performance of these centers with the centers that are purely medical.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The educational environment (EE) is anything happening within the university including classrooms and departments. Getting feedback on studentschr(chr('39')39chr('39')) attitudes to the educational environment is one of the most important components of evaluating this environment. The purpose of this study was to compare the attitudes of undergraduate students of Ahvaz Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences about the educational environment using the Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM) questionnaire. Methodology: In this descriptive cross-sectional study, 137 third-and fourth-year undergraduate students in the fields of physiotherapy, speech therapy, audiology, and occupational therapy who completed the second semester of the academic year 1397-98 completed the DREEM questionnaire. This questionnaire has 5 domains and its maximum score is 200. In this tool, the score indicates more favorable evaluation result. Results: Overall score of DREEM questionnaire for audiology was more than 75% of maximum score. In physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy it was more than 65% of maximum score. In all studied fields, the average score of each domain in terms of percentage of its maximum score showed that the lowest percentage belonged to area 3 and the highest percentage to area 4. The questionnaire survey also did not show a mean score below 2 for any question. Conclussion: According to the DREEM questionnaire, the attitude of undergraduate students in Ahvaz Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences was positive about the educational environment and therefore the educational environment is in a desirable situation.

Abstract: 

Background and purpose: The service-oriented approach is a type of strategy based on satisfying the need of society which therefore stresses the processes such as the link between research and business worlds, introducing the existing talent of the university and spreading knowledge in society. Analysis method: In order to collect data, a semi-structured interview technique was used as a research method to analyze contents in the study. Sampling data was randomized through coding and analyzing contents. A sample of 15 people of experts and intelects of higher education system was randomly selected in a talented way based on the "theoretical saturation principle". Results: The results indicated that the main components of the promotion of the service-oriented university contains: man power, responsiveness and transparency, means of service, maintaining academic independence, flexible structure, democratization, leadership and university management, standardization and needs assessment, establishment of service quality regulation, technology development and innovation. Conclusion: The aim of the study was that the above mentioned categories could provide an effective foundation to improve service-oriented university in order to achieve favorable conditions, given the unfavorable status of academic activities in the countrychr('39')s higher education system.

Abstract: 

The main purpose of this research is to exploration the competencies of faculty members in quality teaching. This research was conducted base on framework of qualitative approach. To this purpose, 12 University Education Experts were selected purposefully and with a theoretical sampling strategy and interviewed in a semi-structured way. To analyze the data, the thematic analysis technique was used. To ensure the validity of the research used of reviewed by members (interviewees) and the triangulation of the data sources methods. Also, to calculate reliability were used of the retest and the agreement between the two coder methods. After implementing the content of the interviews and their preliminary analysis, Codes or basic concepts were identified and In order to achieve the main categories, similar codes are placed on specific categories. Finally, for each of the categories, the title that contains the entire codes was select. As a result of this study, According to university education experts, this competencies is important for the quality of teaching of faculty members: Professional, specialized, socio-communicative, ethical, teaching interest and personality traits are important

Abstract: 

Introduction: Motivation is one of the key factors in learning and it can affect the various aspects of student behavior in the educational system. The aim of this study was to determine the academic motivation of the students of Laboratory Sciences of the Eastern Medical Sciences Universities in 2017. Methods: This descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study was conducted on 334 Medical laboratory students studying at the universities of eastern medical sciences in Iran. For data collecting, Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) and a researcher-made questionnaire for related factors which validity and reliability were confirmed in previous studies have been used. Finally, the data were analyzed by SPSS software using descriptive and analytical statistics and t-test, one-way ANOVA and x2 tests. Results: The results showed that the mean age of the students was 20. 53± 1. 57 years and the average studentchr(chr('39')39chr('39'))s motivation was 124. 04± 18. 75 out of 189 points. Also, There was a significant difference (P<0. 05) between the level of educational motivation and each level of welfare, educational and job prospects as well as the variables of age, sex, and university. Also there was a significant relation between extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation. Conclusion: Regarding the results of the study and the relationship between academic motivation and related factors, as well as the average studentchr(chr('39')39chr('39'))s motivation, more attention should be paid to these factors to remove these obstacles and lead to increasing the studentschr(chr('39')39chr('39')) motivation for their growth and development.

Abstract: 

Background and Purpose: Interprofessional education is one of the new approaches to health education for students and learners And it can enhance inter-professional collaboration and improve the quality of patient care. The purpose of this study was to compare studentschr(chr('39')39chr('39')) perceptions of pre-vocational and inter-professional learning readiness in Nursing and Midwifery Faculties of Islamic Azad University of Isfahan in2018. materials and methods: This descriptive-correlational study was performed on 312 Nursing and Midwifery students Faculties, Islamic Azad University of Isfahan Sampling was made available. In this study, a standardized Interpersonal Learning Preparedness Questionnaire (RIPLS) was used. Data were analyzed by SPSS22 software. Findings: The findings of this study showed that there is a significant difference in the mean scores of perception of inter-professional learning readiness between pre-field and field students (p <0. 001) And the mean scores of students were significantly higher in the whole scale and in all sub-scales. Conclusion: Students were more prepared for teamwork and collaboration than for professional identity and roles and responsibilities.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Emotional Intelligence (EI) and motivated beliefs, and self-regulated learning strategies are two major components in academic performance in the views of a considerable number of investigators. Accordingly, the current study aims to evaluate the correlation among EI, motivated strategies for learning and the academic performance of dental students in Isfahan University of medical Sciences (IUMS). Methods and material: This descriptive, analytical, cross-sectional study carried out on 196 dental students in IUMS. On one the hand, to evaluate EI and motivated beliefs of students, the EI test (Bradberry, 2006) was implemented and on the other hand, the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) (Pintrich & De Groot, 1990) was applied which was notably assessed and confirmed in terms of validity and reliability. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, version 22) using independent samples t-test and Pearsonchr('39')s correlation coefficient (r) (P<0/05). Results: The results suggested a significant positive correlation between EI and motivated strategies (r=0. 392; P-value<0. 001) whereas there was an insignificant poor correlation between EI and academic performance (r=0. 078, P value>0. 05) but a significant positive correlation between motivated strategies (r=0. 190; P value=0. 042). Conclusion: Emotional Intelligence indirectly mediates Motivated Strategies on academic performance.
