Abstract:

During period of five month study 38 coagulate positive staphylococcus isolates were identified from various clinical specimens from 600patients at the AL-Zahra university hospital in Isfahan. Betalactamase production assays using rapid acidometric and iodometric tests showed that 78.9% and 73.6% of isolates were positive respectively. The difference in determination rate between acidimetric and iodometric tests was not statistically significant. Moreover the acidometric test was cheaper and easier to perform than iodometric test. In vitro sensitivity testing using the disc diffusion method showed that all of isolates were resistant to carbenicillin, ampicllin and amoxicillin, while 7.9% and 13.2% were resistant to cefazolin and cephalexin respectively. Therefore we recommend use of cefazolin, cephalexin and oxacillin for treatment of patients with staphylococcus infections.

Abstract:

Community Participation is indeed a rational and scientific approach to achieving sustainable malaria control with measurable collateral benefits. Determination of information, perception and behavior requires to attain it. The study was conducted in randomly 51 clusters and 2168 housewives were interviewed.67.5% were illiterate and one third of respondents considered malaria as an important disease in the area.58.4% considered mosquitoes to be a cause of malaria. Total scores of knowledge were fifteen and the mean of scores of rural and urban areas were 5.5 and 4.7 respectively. The awareness of rural housewives was higher than urban areas (P<0.001).The perceived severity and sensitivity of malaria in rural areas were higher than urban areas. 47.3% in rural and 14.3% in urban used bed nets always or sometimes. The -present investigation shows a correlation between the perceived role of mosquitoes in the transmission of malaria and use of nets. 19.9% of rural people and 73.8% urban people get the first treatment for fever and chills from the local health house and health center. About 23.6% and 18.8% of houses had window and door screens respectively, more in urban than rural areas. Fifty percent of rural people mentioned Behvarz as the main source of information and the role of physicians was minimal. Education played a significant role in increasing the awareness of subjects but didn't have an effective role in preventive behaviors. Results showed that individual judgment and knowledge has a significant role in preventive behavior and health education must be directed to get new education methods.

Abstract:

Aluminum is one of the most abundant elements in the earth crust and enter to the body through drinking water ,industrial use, nutrients and antacids. Aluminum poisoning causes wide range of disorders. Because the renal failure patient with high serum aluminum have anemia. This experiment was performed to study the effect of aluminum on blood factors in rat. The experiment performed in four groups of male rats (n=13). In addition of control group, three groups of animals, consumed a diet containing aluminum (0.625, 1.25 and 2.5 mg/gram diet) for 60 days. At the end, animals were sacrificed and blood samples were collected. RBC counted by hemocytometer, hemoglobin and hematocrit were measured by usually laboratory methods and then MCHC was justified. Results are expressed as mean±SE and P<0.05 were significant. The results show that RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit and MCHC decreased in those groups which consumed the diet containing 2.5 milligram aluminum compared to control group. These results indicated that high aluminum intake in rat causes anemia, decreases RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit and MCHC in rat.

Abstract:

Rotavirus, the most common diarrhea pathogen in children in the entire world, causes approximately One-third of diarrhea associated hospitalizations and 1000000 deaths per year. The etiology of acute diarrhea was studied in 171 children under 6 years of age between September and-March 1993, from Ali-Asghar hospital of Zahedan. 83 hospitalized and 83 healthy children in similar age groups served as controls.Rotavirus was found in 29.2% of patients, 9.6% and 3.8% of controls respectively, with the highest detection rate occurring in the 19-24 month age group 55.6% and declining beyond 31-36 months of ages in patients 82% and controls 87.5%. (The rate of rotavirus infection was highest during August and September respectively 40% and 39.5% and lowest during December 11.1%. There were significant differences between ages, mother's education, and number of family with rotavirus infection diarrhea. Rotavirus detection in relation to different feeding habits and sexes showed no differences.

Abstract:

Hospital accidents have harmful social economic human outcomes so it should be attend to those. In order their prevention and control the first stage is prevalence recognition of these accidents. In this study, factors that affecting incidence of hospital accidents were examined by data collection of 814 personnel in therapeutic, diagnostic and supportive departments of Dr. Shariati hospital. Personnel of diagnostic departments with mean 24.44 accidents lay in the first rank Personnel of therapeutic department with mean 23.88 accidents were in the second place and supportive personnel (with mean 16.7 accidents) were in the third rank.Among the all accidents, coetaneous contact with blood and other body fluids had the most frequency and fire accompanied with bum had the least frequency. Incidence of hospital accidents had significant statistical relationship with workplace (P=0) and gender (P<5%).Therefore, hospital management must consider workplace, employment situation, gender and relative importance of accidents and then intervention programmers should be planned.

Abstract:

We was suspected to clamydia trachomatis infection in vkc patients. We chose 100 case of vkc patients and 100 case of control group without vkc. Then from all of these 200 cases conjunctival smear was been prepared. Smears was been tested by direct immunofleuroscence and checked for chlamydial infection.4% of the vkc patients (1 male & 3 females) had chlamydial infection and 1% of control group (1 female) was positive. In this investigation there wasn't relationship between vkc & chlamydial infection but we should Investigate another microbial factors in vkc pathogenesis.

Abstract:

On account of major changes in medical Sciences and changes in society needs to medical services, there is always necessity for changes in medical education programmers. In this manner, by means of these changes, updated information can be transferred to the students all the time and on the other hand, this education can be adjusted to ever changing society necessities. In this way, a supervisory system or quality control system seems to be necessary. In this article we are trying to describe such a system by using ISO 9000 standards and modeling methods.
