Abstract: 

Purpose: Each language has its own problems. This leads to consider appropriate models for automatic indexing of every language. These models should concern the exhaustificity and specificity of indexing. This paper aims at introduction and evaluation of a model which is suited for Persian automatic indexing. This model suggests to break the text into the particles of candidate terms and to cull the most appropriate ones through a special method of term weighting.Methodology: The introduction method of the automatic indexing model is performed through showing the steps and the possible problems for running them. Evaluation is based on the inclusion index. This index is used for determination the inter-indexer consistency. Therefore, the consistency of resulted index terms (from this model) and author keywords is determined.Findings: Findings show that 90% of articles' most weighted terms are similar to their first author keywords. The overall consistency between the results of running the model and author keywords is 76%. Compared with the prior works, the performance of the model is acceptable.Originality/Value: The initial value of this paper is concerning the automatic indexing with regard of Persian language problems. The model is well suited for using regular expression language which is supported by many programming languages. This diminishes the need to create database tables for text manipulation and processing. In addition, the model solves the problem of upper threshold for determination of final terms. Another algorithm makes it possible to determine the lower one. Finally, the number of culled terms does not depend on the text length. This guaranties the exhaustificity and specificity of indexing.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The goal of this research is to describe how we can arrange the books in the shelves such that leads to minimization of the movement of the clients in the library and reduction of restrictions on the number and volume of each type of book shelves.Methodology: Clearly, the organization of the books is an optimization topic with a vast search space. Therefore, it cannot be solved by mathematical optimization methods that try to study the entire search space. The main objective of this research is to solve the above problem using the meta-heuristic Cuckoo Algorithm.Findings: The Cuckoo algorithm was conducted 350 times for solving the problem of this research. The results showed that the performance of the algorithm can be considered acceptable, especially with regard to the execution speed, convergence steadiness and goodness of the results.Originality/ Value: Organization of the books in the library shelves is a complex matter, which affects significantly the truck of users when looking for books. Cuckoo algorithm leads us to an optimal space allocation that related topics of books shelved in an optimal distance for reduction of traffic.

Abstract: 

Purpose: According to the problems of visually impaired people in the library, this research aims to introduce a model with respect to existing methods, using RFID technology and cell phone to resolve the problem of searching books without the librarian guidance and investigates the possibility of using this technology in libraries that have open stack. According to the current design, a model is proposed for implementation in blind special libraries (Shiraz Blind Library as the case study).Methodology: The modeling approach was used for implementation of the research. A collection of hardware equipments and related software, library studies and databases acted as dataset for this research. By means of the mentioned data, the model was created and analyzed through simulation.Findings: In proposed model, reader hardware reads RFID tags identifier and sends the prepared information to the cell phone by USB cable. The prepared information searches the indexed information of books that have same codes and next to it, calls the player to play the sound of the targeted book information.Originality/Value: According to Article 9 of the International Convention of People with Disabilities, and UNESCO Public Library Manifesto in 1994, and authors. investigations, there is no similar pattern of integration of RFID technology and cell phone. The proposed model with relatively low cost of needed soft and hardware can help blinds remarkably.

Abstract: 

Purpose: This paper aims to evaluate the security of web-based information systems of Iran Public Libraries Foundation (IPLF).Methodology: Survey method was used as a method for implementation. The tool for data collection was a questionnaire, based on the standard ISO/IEC 27002, that has the eleven indicators and 79 sub-criteria, which examines security of web-based information systems of IPLF. Four web-based systems of IPLF evaluated. Evaluation criteria includes: Security Policy; Organization of information security; Asset management; human resources security; physical and environmental security; communications and operations management; access control; Information systems acquisition, development and maintenance; Information security incident management; business continuity management, and compliance.Findings: Results show that security level of "Reading grid system" and "my book system" with an average of 0.68 was high. Security level of "Payam Mashregh system" and "Farzin statistical system" with an average of 0.60 and 0.53 was middle. Indicators such as "business continuity management", "prepare, develop and maintain information systems' strongest points", "information security policy" and "information security organization" are among the most vulnerable areas of information security systems of IPLF And there were significant differences between viewpoints of experts about indicators of Information Security systems of IPLF.Originality/ value: We designed a systematic approach for the immunization of data exchange environment by evaluating web-based systems of IPLF by some criteria derived from accepted information security management standards. This article identified the strengths and vulnerabilities of the mentioned systems.

Abstract: 

Purpose: This research aims to evaluate the effects of information technology governance maturity on knowledge management processes.Methodology: This research formulated as a descriptive survey. The survey sample population consisted of 469 randomly taken experts who work in IT companies of Iran, according to a cluster random sampling skim. We Used semi-structured interview with sophisticated experts for the extraction of evaluation factors. The information technology governance maturity was evaluated by means of COBIT's Infrastructure. Relationships between maturities of knowledge management processes with the information technology governance formulated as 8 hypotheses. To examine the hypotheses we used Granger-Cause test and vector auto regression.Findings: results revealed that IT governance has effect on knowledge transfer, knowledge storage and knowledge utilization. Thus, by increase in the IT governance in an organization, we might expect the facilitation of knowledge management processes.Originality/Value: The relationship between information technology maturity and knowledge management processes first evaluated by this research.

Abstract: 

Purpose: the aim of this research is to design co-authorship network among Knowledge and Information science Persian Journals and to know the most important authors in the time period from 2008 to 2013. Moreover, in this article, co-authorship patterns and network integrity is measured.Methodology: We used scientometric tools and methods and some of the most important social network indexes such as Collaborative Index, degree of Collaboration, Collaboration Coefficient, Degree Centrality, Between Centrality, and Eigenvector Centrality for the fulfilment of this research. Nodexl software was used to analyse data.Findings: The results show that the most important Collaboration Index is related to Processing and Information management journal and the highest Degree of Collaboration belonged to journal of Information Science and Public Libraries and Processing and Information management journal. Moreover, the most important authors with the highest degree are included Gholamreza Fadaei, Mohammad Hasanzade and Fariborz Doroudi.Originality/value: Until now, most of the researchers investigated Iranian articles on Web of Science not local Scientific Databases of Journals. Moreover, it introduce the most significant and outstanding authors with wide range of inclusion in knowledge and information science.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the quality of provincial websites of Iran Public Libraries Foundation (IPLF) by WQET evaluation tool.Methodology: Survey method was used for implementation of this research. Data were collected from 31 provincial websites, through a WQET checklist. Validity of the checklist was approved by applying viewpoints of experts and specialists, and Cronbach's alpha factor was used as reliability score of the tool. The score of the mentioned factor estimated as 92 percent that showed good reliability.Findings: The results showed that the quality of the website of Isfahan (56%) is better than others, and the website of Kurdistan (23%) had earned lower point. In parameters such as performance, graphics, scope and structure, all of sites are under average range, and in other parameters, most of websites were lower than ever before.Originality/Value: WQEST tool is newly used for the assessment of the quality of Iran Public Libraries Provincial branches websites. Awareness of strengths and weaknesses of websites can help to more effective presence on cyber media.

Abstract: 

Purpose: This research aims to analyze the relationships between budgets allocated to research and development by countries and scientific ranks of them.Methodology: scientometrics approach used for the fulfillment of the research. 37 countries that have more than 100 H-Index in 1996 until 2010 in SciMago, had selected for the study. These countries were studied in 3 difference clusters. The data gathered from WoS, SciMago, UNESCO, OECD and World Bank databases. The research questions had responded through Pierson Correlation Test.Findings: findings show that there is positive correlation between two batches of Gross domestic expenditure on R&D indicators and Scientific Ranking indicators. Thus, we can expect an increase in the R&D indicators by applying increase in the budgets allocated to R&D.Originality/Value: Value of this research is about illumination and verification of the effects of gross domestic expenditure on scientific rankings of countries.
