Abstract:

Introduction: Diagnosis of cancer is associated with fear of dying, which greatly affects the human dignity of the individual. In Iran, the psychological issue of these patients, including human dignity and interventions in this field, has been underestimated. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of spiritual intelligence training on human dignity in cancer patients. Methods: This randomized clinical trial with control group was performed on 50 cancer patients admitted to Omid Hospital in Mashhad in 2018 – 2019 (May-Jun). The patients were selected by available method and randomly assigned to two groups of intervention (23 patients) and control (n = 27). The intervention group underwent spiritual intelligence training according to King's (2008) model during ten sessions of one and a half hours. The control group received routine care. The data collection tool was a standard patient dignity inventory that was completed in two steps before intervention and 8 weeks after intervention. Data was analyzed using SPSS 21 software, t-paired and t-independent test. Results: Both groups were homogeneous for demographic variables and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. There was no significant difference between the scores of both groups before entering the study (P = 0. 68). There was a significant difference between the mean scores of the two groups before intervention and 8 weeks after intervention (P <0. 001). Conclusion: Spiritual intelligence training can enhance human dignity in cancer patients. Therefore, it is recommended to use it in hospitals.

Abstract:

Introduction: Cancer and tolerance of severe therapies affect all aspects of life and generally the quality of life of patients. Spiritual care is one of the most important types of care for cancer patients. The most important element in spiritual care is healing. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of healing program on quality of life in chemotherapy patients Methods: This study is a semi experimental study in two private hospitals in Tehran in 20017. The samples were first selected from among the patients who were referred to two hospitals. Quality of life of patients before and after two months after intervention was measured and recorded by a specific questionnaire for measuring the quality of life of cancer patients. For analyzing, descriptive and analytic tests such as mean differences test and analysis of variance were used using SPSS 20. Data was analyzed using SPSS 21 software, t-paired and t-independent test. Results: Chi-square and analysis of variance showed that the two groups had no significant difference in terms of demographic characteristics, effective variables, and mean of quality of life in terms of dimensions and in general. And the mean of quality of life of the patients in the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group two months after the intervention (P<0. 05). Conclusion: Healing attendance alone as an integral part of spiritual care can be effective in improving the quality of life of patients. Therefore, nurses can advise that their care will be more effective if they focus on their presence along with patients in caring activities and focus on indicators and elements designed to heal.

Abstract:

Introduction: Due to the time constraints in the nursing system, it seems necessary to assess the time management competency of clinical nurses. Time management has sociocultural nature. Existing time management tools have not considered social aspects of time management. The purpose of this study was to design a questionnaire for assessing the social component of time management competency in clinical nurses population. Methods: This research was carried out with a explanatory sequential mixed methods design. First, qualitative study and using the grounded theory method, the concept of social components of time management competency of clinical nurses was explained. Based on quotations, the items of the initial questionnaire was generated and then the face and content validity was determined by using the quantitative and qualitative methods. The construct validity was determined with the exploratory factor analysis. The reliability was approved with the measurement of internal consistency using Cronbach's alpha coefficient and the stability assessed using a testretest (Interclass correlation coefficient) method. . Results: Of the first 41 items, 36 items entered into the exploratory factor analysis after calculating the impact score of items with values higher than 1. 5, content validity ratio higher than 0. 53, content validity index higher than 0. 79, and item analysis. In construct validity step, 29 items was grouped into 6 factors. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was 0. 858 and the stability (ICC) of the questionnaire was 0. 906. These 6 factors explained 46. 714 % of the variance of the Questionnaire Conclusion: The questionnaire, according to its designation, can be used to assess the social components of time management competency of clinical nurses.

Abstract:

Introduction: A mentally retarded child puts burden and responsibility on their family, especially the mother, and disturbs her general health. Since spiritual wellbeing is one of the most important sociocultural factors related to health, this study aimed to determine the correlation between spiritual health and public health among mothers of mentally disabled children in Hamadan. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was a correlation study on 165 mothers with mentally disabled children who were studying at special schools in Hamadan in spring of 2017 who were selected using available sampling method. Data were collected by General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), Spiritual Well Being (SWB), and demographic Questionnaire that were completed by mothers on the presence of a researcher. SPSS 23 software was used to analyze the data and descriptive and correlation tests were used. Results: The results of this study showed that the mean age of mothers was 37. 3 ± 6. 3. The gender of mentally disabled children was 52. 7% male and 47. 3% female. 10% of mothers reported health disorders, as well as the spiritual level of the majority of mothers was moderate (63%). There was a significant relationship between spiritual health and public health (P <0/05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that there is a revers relationship between spiritual health and health disorders, so that the promotion of spiritual health will promote public health and reduce health disorders, including anxiety among mothers. Given the important role of mothers in the care for their children, the design of educational programs aimed at improving the health of mothers should be a priority.

Abstract:

Introduction: Today, pain is important since it is considered as the fifth vital sign. In patients with decreased consciousness, it is often difficult to detect pain due to the communication barriers. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate effect of using Behavioral Pain Scale (BPS) by nurses on diagnosis of Pain and Relief Care in ICU Patients. Methods: This semi-experimental single-group study was conducted with the participation of 68 nurses in the intensive care unit of Hamadan hospitals and selected by census sampling method. The ability to diagnose pain and determine its severity in patients, and pain management methods used by nurses, were evaluated based on the researcher made checklist of evaluation of pain relief before and after the training of behavioral pain monitoring. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18. Descriptive statistics were used to determine the frequency, mean, and analytical statistics for comparing ratios and Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Chi-square (P<0. 05). Results: The findings showed that after the intervention, the ability to diagnose pain by nurses has optimally changed. The frequency of use of pain relief drug methods increased from 625 to 1222, and the use of non-pharmacological pain relief also increased significantly (P< 0/001). Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that the use of BPS scale has been effective in diagnosing and monitoring pain in patients with decreased consciousness, and has led to optimal changes in the use of non-pharmacological pain relief medications as complementary therapies in intensive care units.

Abstract:

Introduction: Postpartum delivery care, considered as one of the most important health care activities, is a very important factor in preventing unwanted maternal outcomes. This course is an ideal time to intervene in order to im-prove their health. Nowadays, the most important way to improve the quality of care is to evaluate the quali-ty. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the quality of postpartum care from the viewpoint of re-cipients using the SERVQUAL pattern in Sanandaj comprehensive health centers in 2018. Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was conducted on 384 women who referred to the comprehensive health cen-ters of Sanandaj for postpartum care. Sampling was done by classification. Data was collected by the standard SERVQUAL questionnaire, which measures the quality gap in 5 dimensions of the service (tangibility, relia-bility, assurance, accountability and empathy) and measures 22 questions. Data was analyzed by SPSS 23 us-ing descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA. Results: In all five dimensions of quality of services there was a negative quality gap. The highest mean quality was in the reliability dimension (-1. 82) and the lowest mean gap was related to the responsiveness dimension (-1. 55). Also, there was no significant relationship between age, education level and number of children and quality gap (P> 0. 05). Conclusion: The results showed that there is a gap between expectations and perception of service providers, and efforts to meet needs and achieve expectations are necessary.
