An important part of tourism activities is nature-based; and in the majority of regions, paying attention to the rural tourism is of great importance to improve life conditions of the rural people and farmers while enjoying natural beauties. The village of Dareh Morad Beyg in Hamedan County of Iran, with its possible potentials in cultural, natural and historical fields, has the required basis for planning based on ecotourism studies and surveys. This study aimed at investigating the tourism development of this village through an analytical matrix of SWOT. The results showed the excellent landscapes in both sides of the village and their natural attractions as the most important strengths, using its natural landscapes as an external opportunity, lack of comprehensive planning and lack of camping facilities as the most important internal weaknesses, and destruction of the gardens and pristine spaces subject to land use changes as the most important threats.

This study aimed at investigating the economic and social viewpoints of farmers in Jiroft county of Iran about the proposed plan for restoration of Jazmoryan wetland. After completing 243 questionnaires in 2014 with estimates of Heckman's two-step model, the collected data were analyzed. The results showed that the variables of acreage, age, gender, education level, income level and morality significantly affected the farmers' willingness to participate while the amount of compensation offered by the farmers, regardless of culture, was significantly affected by the variables of acreage, gender, education level, household members, location of residence, income level, morality and inverted Mills ratio; in addition, some 45 percent of the farmers surveyed disagreed to the plan. Finally, it was suggested that the government would definitely need to increase the participation of farmers through policy actions while implementing the plan.

This study aimed at analyzing the relation networks among both public and private fishing stakeholders in Salakh village, Qeshm island of Iran, in order to examine the reasons of underdeveloped fishing tourism in this village. Required data were collected using a questionnaire filled by the concerned stakeholders of the village and then, the networks were delineated and analyzed using In-degree Centrality, Status, and Grouping based on Role Equivalence Indices in Visone software. The study results revealed that there was no defect in the relation networks among the stakeholders and indeed, the fishermen and organizations didn’t have sufficient information about this industry and also, 67 percent of the fishermen didn’t have tendency to continue the fishing due to their economic problems as well as the bad economic status of this activity. Coordinating the activities of fishermen and organizations related to fishing industry and giving the required educations to fishermen were suggested as necessary measures to develop the fishing tourism in Salakh village; furthermore, to introduce and advertise in good manner about tourism potentials of the village to attract tourists were among the other recommendations.

This study aimed at evaluating the impact of drought on the economic status and livelihood of the rural households in collective operation units (cooperatives) in Fasa county of Iran. The effects of drought on the employment status, production performance, production costs and satisfaction with income were formulated within four hypotheses. A descriptive-analytical research method was used and the study population included 248 joint cooperatives of the county, with all the supervisors of the units being surveyed using the complete enumeration method.The required data were collected through a self-designed questionnaire. The hypotheses were tested using Wilcoxon statistic. The results showed that drought had a negative effect on the livelihood of rural households who were the members of these cooperatives. The Wilcoxon statistic values for all dimensions at an error level smaller than 0.05 indicated a significant difference between the rural people's livelihoods before and after the drought.

This study, with a descriptive-analysis approach, aimed at investigating the sustainability indicators in rural settlements using Shannon entropy, DEA Solver and matrix crossover techniques in the villages of Bonab county of Iran. The results indicated that from the 28 studied villages applying 30 indicators, 13 villages were recognized efficient. Moreover, to demonstrate the effectiveness of each countryside in terms of rating, the cross matrix was utilized; and accordingly, villages of Khoshe Mehr and Zavaragh and Kutah Mehr were allocated the first to third rankings, respectively, while Gheshlagh Khane Bargh, Khane Bargh Jadid and Algho villages were placed in the last rankings, reflecting the inappropriate situation among the studied villages.

This study aimed at examining the human communication techniques to improve the performance of extension educators from viewpoint of construction soldiers of Jihad for Agriculture Ministry of Iran. It was a quantitative study in nature, an applied research in terms of purpose and a descriptive study in terms of methodology. Statistical population included 222 individuals of the concerned soldiers and the data was collected by a survey approach through questionnaire.The results showed significantly positive relations of audio and verbal communication, nonverbal communication, writing communication, models of communication, informing with communication process and importance of communication process (P=99%) with the performance of extension educators.Also, the results of regression analysis showed that about 41 percent of the variance in the perception of respondents about the improved performance of extension educators was explained by the audio and verbal communication and nonverbal communication.

Social Sustainability Level in Rural Areas: A Case Study of Sub districts of Charam County, Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad Province of Iran Soroush SANAEI MOGHADDAM [1], Rasool BALAGHI [2], Behrouz MOHAMMADI YEGANEH [3], and Mehdi CHERAGHI [4] Received: 30 November, 2016 Accepted: 24 April, 2017 This study aimed at evaluating the social sustainability of rural areas and specifically sub districts of Charam county, Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad province of Iran. This applied research was conducted in a descriptive-analytic method. The data was collected through a library and field study. The information was analyzed in Delphi method by applying fuzzy and also fuzzy TOPSIS techniques. The sample size was determined 285 rural household heads by using Cochran sampling method.The results showed that the total social sustainability subjective indicators in rural areas of Sarfaryab and Bordyan were located in sustainable cluster and of Alghchyn villages, in upper cluster at the lowest level of social sustainability. A balanced development of rural areas in the couty requires reconsideration of the allocated resources, equal distribution of opportunities and improved quality of services in order to reduce the development gaps among the rural areas.
