Pages

  311-321

Abstract

In order to study the relationship between SELF ESTEEM and ATTACHMENT STYLE, 100 female UNIVERSITY STUDENTs, completed SELF ESTEEM Inventory (Coopersmith, 1967) and ATTACHMENT STYLE Questionnaire (Hazan & Shaiver, 1987). SELF ESTEEM was positively related to the secure ATTACHMENT STYLE and negatively related to the avoidant ATTACHMENT STYLE. A non-significant negative correlation was seemed between self-esteem and anxious-ambivalent ATTACHMENT STYLE. The implications for further studies that include male participants and larger samples are discussed.
