THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE IN LIBRARY AND LIBRARIANS’ JOB SATISFACTION: A CASE STUDY OF THE CENTRAL LIBRARY OF ASTAN QUDS RAZAVI

Abstract

 Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE and JOB SATISFACTION of the LIBRARIANS at the CENTRAL LIBRARY OF ASTAN QUDS RAZAVI.Methodology: The present study was conducted through the survey-correlation method. The population consisted of all the officially-employed LIBRARIANS in the CENTRAL LIBRARY OF ASTAN QUDS RAZAVI among which 52 individuals were randomly chosen. Data collection tool was a questionnaire adapted from the Schneider questionnaire of ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE and Smith questionnaire of JOB SATISFACTION which were distributed among LIBRARIANS. The collected data then were analyzed using appropriate parametric tests including T test, Pearson correlation test, multiple regression and ANOVA using SPSS software.Findings: According to the results, LIBRARIANS JOB SATISFACTION at the CENTRAL LIBRARY OF ASTAN QUDS RAZAVI was evaluated at a high level but its amount was significantly different based on their gender and work experience. Meanwhile, the ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE of the library was assessed as moderate. Research results also showed that there were significant relationships between the components of library ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE and LIBRARIANS JOB SATISFACTION.
