Abstract

Genetic potential and variation of 28 HALOXYLON APHYLLUM genotypes from several arid zones of Iran were evaluated in Medicinal Plants Station in Yazd, Iran during 1998-2004. Experiment was conducted using a randomized complete block design with three replications. Plant height, canopy cover and etc. Simple and compound analysis was carried out and heritability of traits was estimated annually. Heritability of traits varied from 0.12 for branch number to 0.44 for pesil disease in 5th year. According to the results, genotypes No. 1,22,18,27 and 14 may be regarded as superior genotypes. Thus, it would be beneficial to use the genotypes with desired characteristics in next phase of this research.
