Abstract

In order to produce forage in less productive farms and rangelands with suitable conditions but degradated in GOLESTAN province, investigation on cultivated forage plants is not avoidable. For this purpose, research conducted on YIELD comparison of 11 CULTIVARs of the perennial alfalfa (Semirchenskaya, Kankrip, Ranger, Maopa, Cody, kerrisari, Bamy, Khorvandeh, Gharghologh, Gharahyonjeh1, Gharahyonjeh 2) in Ata Abad research station in 1369. This station is located 15 km from Aghghala city.This investigation carried out using Randomized Complete Block Designe with 3 replications for 4 years.There was significant difference amoung the CULTIVARs(at the %1 level). The CULTIVARs Kankrip, Ranger, Gharahyongeh 2, Bamy and Cody produced the YIELDs highest YIELDs respectively Based on mean comparison by using the Duncans method, there were not significant difference amoung them. The CULTIVAR Kankrip had the most dry forage with 3830 kg/ha per year and the CULTIVAR Gharahyonjeh 1 had the least YIELD (2330 kg/ha). with respect to the results and location of trial site (374mm mean annual rainfall and semi-arid condition, varieties for planting the considerable areas of the Province can be used successfully. of kankrip, Ranger, Charahyonjeh 2, Bamy and Cody.
