Abstract

This article mainly aims at studying the textual and semiotic features of radio drama. As a matter of fact, examining the credibility of atmospheres of a drama, in absence of image and with presence of music, sounds and conversations, is meant. It is aimed at figuring out how the music creates the needed atmosphere, how the characters with their conversations are visualized and how the sound effects determine the situation. In this study 5 radio dramas are randomly selected. Finally, the charts show that dialogue, music and sound effects as sound layers in a radio drama are the most important factors involved in a radio drama.
