Abstract

 Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of psychological hardiness in the relationship between spiritual intelligence and resilience. Method: The research method was correlation of the type structural equation modeling. The population of this study included all Undergraduate students Poldokhtar Higher Education Center who were studying in the academic year 2020-2021. The statistical sample size was determined based on the rules of thumb Kline equal to 210 people, which was done by available sampling method and online questionnaire. The instruments used in this study were Integrated spiritual intelligence Scale (SISRI), Connor-Davidson resilience Scale (CD-RISC), and Lang and Goulet Hardiness Scale (LGHS). Data analysis was performed using Path analysis statistical method and by the SPSS-22, and AMOS-24 software. Bootstrapping method was used to examine the mediating role of the variables in Amos software. Findings: The results showed that spiritual intelligence and psychological hardiness have a direct positive effect on students' psychological resilience. The results of structural equation modeling also showed that psychological hardiness has a mediating role in the relationship between spiritual intelligence and psychological resilience. Conclusion: According to the findings, it can be concluded that in student’, s, higher levels of spiritual intelligence can predict higher resilience. Meanwhile, psychological hardness as a personal factor can clarify the mechanism of the effect of spiritual intelligence on resilience. In other words, spiritual intelligence has a positive effect on the resilience through increasing psychological hardiness. These results can be used to design counseling programs for student’, s people.
