Abstract

Introduction and purpose: In the evening, the family system has many problems and family differences, divorce, increasing the number of orphans and criminal juvenile indicate the main problems in families, the main root of which is the quality of relations between couples. According to this the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Effective communication skills training based on Islamic culture on communication patterns of couples with children. Methodology: The study is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of the present study included couples with children referred to comprehensive health centers in the city of Malathia in the first six months of 2021. The sample group consisted of 60 couples who were selected by random sampling and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (30 couples in the experimental group and 30 couples in the control group). Both groups completed the couples communication patterns questionnaire (CPQ), then the experimental group under 12 sessions of 2 hours of Effective communication skills training program based on Islamic culture. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 23 and multivariate analysis of covariance. Results: The results showed that Effective communication skills training based on Islamic culture has an effect on communication patterns of couples with children. The effect of this intervention on couples' communication patterns (constructive reciprocal communication, reciprocal avoidance communication and expectation / withdrawal relationship) are 36, 32 and 28%, respectively. Conclusion: Training in Effective communication skills based on Islamic culture is effective on couples 'communication patterns and due to its usefulness, can be used as an effective method to improve the quality and increase couples' emotional communication.
