Abstract

Background and Aim: Student ATTITUDEs and FUTURE CAREER depends on many psychological and environmental factors. The aim of this study was to determine the LABORATORY SCIENCES student’s ATTITUDE toward their field of study and FUTURE CAREER in Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences.Materials and Methods: This Cross-Sectional research was done during the second semester of academic year of 2015 at Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences on 95 STUDENTS, which all of this field’s STUDENTS were selected to enter the study. Data were gathered by a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions. To analyze the collected data, Stata12 software (Man-Vitni and Kruscal Valis non-parametric tests) were used.Results: About 85% of STUDENTS to work in their fields of study expressed pleasure however, 75% of them considered inadequate employment benefits for this career and the same amount had concerned about their FUTURE CAREER. Also a significant relationship was found between the ATTITUDE to the field of study and the semester (p=0.0001).Conclusion: According to the results, student’s ATTITUDEs toward their field of study and FUTURE CAREER were negative and close to the average. Also according to their statement, some STUDENTS are studying in this field without prior notice; therefore it is essential that advice be given much more in high school. Also it’s requiring for STUDENTS to ensure FUTURE CAREER.
