Abstract

The difficulties of COUPLEs and their families before and after DIVORCE have been studied for many years. The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors involved in DIVORCE such as age, economic, social and cultural variables. Addiction, mental, and sexual disorders in DIVORCEd spouses were studied in a Center for Prevention and Decrease of DIVORCE (CPDD) in welfare organization of Isfahan. Data were collected from all referred cases (424) from March 2003 to march 2005. The results indicated that the most cases were referred to CPDD by Court. It was found that the highest rate of DIVORCE appeal was for women at age of 28 to 31 and for men at 24 to 27 (P<0.05).DIVORCE after the age of 35 decreases in both sexes (P<0.05). The most important factors of DIVORCE appeal were communication problems, addiction, interference of family members, and mental disorder of one or both COUPLEs (P<0.05).The results of the present study emphasizes on the fact that youngers are more suitable to marital problems. Seeking consultation for problems and prevention could decrease the risk of factors leading to DIVORCE.
