Abstract

The aim of this study was investigating of IMPORT DEMAND factors of cattle products such as cow MEAT, poultry MEAT, MILK and CHEESE. The data for this reason were used for the period of 1981-2004 and following different tests IMPORT DEMAND functions of cow and poultry MEAT estimated by using 3SLS method and for estimating MILK and CHEESE import functions SURE method was used. The results showed that import behavior of all of the commodities in response to the tariff, price, income and production changes are not the same. The poultry MEAT import more responded to tariff change compare to the cow MEAT and MILK. This finding may be due to more competitive and institutional activities in poultry MEAT production market.
