Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify role of factors affecting EXPORT of horticultural products including ALMONDs, DATE and APPLE in IRAN. The co-integration analysis known as ARDL approach was applied in both of long and short-run to time series of 1983-2004. It was found that domestic production and world-domestic prices ratio have positive and statistically significant impacts on ALMOND EXPORT in the long-run. In the short-run, ALMOND EXPORT is affected only by domestic production. Changes in EXPORT of DATE in both long and short-run could be explained by changes in world domestic price ratio and exchange rate and the former affected positively and the latter had negative effect on DATE EXPORT. Domestic production had no significant contribution to DATE EXPORT. EXPORT of APPLE is affected only by its domestic production in the long run while in the short-run any of selected variables did not have significant effect on its EXPORT. In the case of selected products, exchange rate did not have significant effect on their EXPORT in the long-run.
