LEARNING ENGLISH THROUGH NEW MEDIA WITH IRANIAN-ISLAMIC CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

 This study aimed at teaching English through the medium of MOBILE TECHNOLOGY to Iranian students as non-English speakers to see if instruction thru new modes of delivery has any significant effect on their ability in the propagation of Persian-Islamic contents among nations. To that end, 280 male and female Persian, Turkish, and Arab learners between the ages of 14-16with an elementary level of proficiency and from a middle socio-economic background with the available sampling method were selected. The survey instrument was a questionnaire that attitude of internal consistency reliability (Cronbach's alpha) was used for 93.0 reliability showed good reliability. Validity of the of the attitude construct validity was used Also, inspired by the perspectives of present and past Iranian philosophers and researchers. This study aim was practical and analysis level was Descriptive - inferential. Results unveiled that there were significant differences in how female and male learners applied literal translation, qualitative and quantitative aspects of the content, and repetition in the cultural genre of the learners' L2 (English) conversations; namely, the frequency percentile of the proper application of such cases among female Turkish-speaking learners was significantly higher. The result of this study could have implications for subsequent studies to enhance the relationship among members of Islamic nations thru teaching English forms of Persian-Islamic instructions in mobile-enhanced environments.
