Abstract

Background and Objective: In recent years, the estimated prevalence of infertility in Ilam province, more than estimates has been carried out in earlier years. Infertility is a stressful event that it has psycho-social aspects. This study seeks to determine the factors associated with INFERTILE WOMEN HAPPINESS in Ilam city.Method: It was a descriptive cross- sectional study with predictive- correlational design. The sample consisted of 116 INFERTILE WOMEN of Ilam city who during the second 6 months of 2016 were referred to obstetricians. Data was collected in questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of three parts. In the first part questions field; in the second part potentially relevant factors, and in the third part HAPPINESS variables are measured. In this regard, the standard questionnaire Allport and Ross Miller questionnaire, and Oxford HAPPINESS Questionnaire was used. Data was analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS.Results: The findings revealed that the respondents’ HAPPINESS was moderate (74.84). A significant direct correlation was found between life satisfaction (r=0.606), SELF-ESTEEM (r=0.767), adherence to beliefs (r=0.676), social acceptability (r=0.567), purposefulness (r=0.723)), hope for the future (r=0.651), being disciplined (r=0.488), and HAPPINESS (p<0.005). There were also a significant indirect relationship between alienation (r=-0.641) and HAPPINESS (p<0.005). No significant relationship was found between relative deprivation and adaptability with HAPPINESS. Stepwise regression analysis showed that the variables of adherence to beliefs, SELF-ESTEEM and alienation have explained almost 70 percent (r 2=0.69) of HAPPINESS variations (p<0.001).Conclusion: Given that HAPPINESS among INFERTILE WOMEN is low, it is recommended that obstetricians and gynecologists and midwives, in addition to the therapeutic aspects also pay attention to the psychological and social issues.
