PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT AND OPTIMISM IN PREDICTION OF RESILIENCE AMONG CARDIAC PATIENTS AND HEALTHY INDIVIDUALS IN ZAHEDAN

Abstract

 Background and Objective: RESILIENCE (not part of the individual personality but also a personal trait that with the right support and effective vary), One of the social context affecting the RESILIENCE social support. Social support and OPTIMISM as an important facilitator of health behavior is concerned. Social protection, the strongest and most powerful fighting force for the successful and easy to deal with a conflict situation is a stressful time and Facilitate difficulty for patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT and OPTIMISM in predicting resiliency heart patients and their healthy counterparts.Method: This descriptive correlational study in 2016 in Zahedan. The population of the entire cardiac patients and 80 healthy relatives of 105 people in a month The sampling were selected in three months, 66 people from HEART DISEASE and 82 of their relatives, for example in hospitals in Zahedan Ali ibn Abi Talib and the Prophet. Data Collection tools were Connor-Davidson RESILIENCE scale (CD-RISC), Multidimensional Scale of PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT (MSPSS) and OPTIMISM questionnaire. Data were analyzed by using mean and standard deviation, variance analysis, correlation analysis and stepwise regression with SPSS-19 software.Results: The results showed that in healthy subjects resiliency with OPTIMISM (r=0.41) and social protection (r=0.51) positive correlation between OPTIMISM and social support (r=0.36) a significant positive relationship at 0/99 is confident. Stepwise regression's results about healthy individuals showed OPTIMISM and social support as predictors' RESILIENCE but in people with HEART DISEASE only OPTIMISM predicts RESILIENCE at the level of p<0.01.Conclusion: According to the regression of social support and OPTIMISM as one of the most powerful predictors of mental health in healthy individuals, And the results showed that patients receiving less social support. A sense that the better a person's social support network and broader, Mental health is more. Social protection to vaccinate people against stressful situations before they occur, Reduce stress. RESILIENCE There are also more satisfied with life by reducing negative emotions and improvement of mental health. And is defined as a resource to facilitate overcoming hardships, problems, resistance to stress and relieve their psychological effects.
