Abstract

The issue of "spiritual LEADERSHIP" in the current management literature, is something extraordinary, but all its dimensions have not been investigated yet and it is viewed as a tool.A quick look at the related papers shows that by "spiritual characteristics of leaders" and "spiritual LEADERSHIP" in the existing scientific literature, it is meant a LEADERSHIP based on spirituality without religion.Therefore, this paper, by examining the thoughts and behavior of one of the commanders of the HOLY DEFENSE, Major General Shahid AHMAD KAZEMI, tries to institutionalize a systematic pattern of spiritual LEADERSHIP based on ISLAMIC VALUES in which God has a pivotal place.In this research, by using the grounded theory, themes and various codes were extracted from 13 sets of interviews with Shahid Kazemi’s friends and relatives.Finally, we achieved a model to explain the formation of a pattern based on various aspects of spiritual leaders and their relations with their followers.In this model, several factors such as the growth environment, effective backgrounds to the individual’s development, knowledge and self-discipline and the commander’s characteristics and behaviors leading to the establishment of emotional, intellectual and behavioral influence on subordinate are involved.
