Abstract

An urban environment with suitable quality and neighborhoods as fundamental elements can induct satisfactory and welfare feelings to the inhabitants. The main goal of this article was to conceptualize environmental quality contents in new towns ’ neighborhoods by evaluating satisfaction rate of inhabitant from environmental quality factors. Therefore, the researchers extracted 25 factors from fundamental theories of environmental quality in three different dimensions of experimental, functional, and natural environment. With these factors they evaluated environmental quality of four different neighborhoods of Pardis. Considering the main goal, the researchers of the present study evaluated the relationship between the environmental quality indicators and the satisfaction rate of the residential environment neighborhood. This relationship was shown in a model evaluating environmental quality. The results of the study showed that there were six basic factors, indicating the satisfaction of Pardis habitants; however, the low overall score of satisfaction rate explained the inability of Pardis town to fulfill the inhabitants’ needs and desires.
