Abstract

Background and aim: In case of a conflict, change and the cool relationships between family members and not satisfying the needs of adolescents, they may resort to abnormal behaviors including running away. Adolescent runaway is considered one of the most important social damage. The aim of this study was to evaluate the FAMILY STATUS of run-away girls with emphasis on their abuse.Method: This study is a survey. The sample consisted of 33 cases of RUNAWAY GIRLS aged between 15-20 who were selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected via self-made questionnaire, which was classified based on the incidence, type, severity and frequency of each type of abuse. For data analysis, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (one-sample t-test) were used.Findings: The severity of abuse within the family was effective on the girls` running away from home.Conclusion: Main reasons of girls running away were inattention and disrespect, mistreat and their abuse, restriction and deprivation, extreme cold and low relationships, discrimination and disruption of families.
