Abstract

Women's rights have always been a subject of dispute in different societies. In the opinion of most people, in spite of the differences of time, place, race, color and RELIGION, the main responsibility of women is to bear, cherish and make her child reach the age of puberty.But in reality, women have always impressed the social, historical, political and cultural structure, and also the beliefs of society. The impression is, of course, reciprocal; the society has also affected man.In Zoroastrian RELIGION, women are basically treated in two different ways. In Gahan, as the oldest part of Avesta, women have very high status. They are, socially and legally equal to men. In later Avesta, woman is the source of impurity. She does not have the status of the Gahanic woman.The essay is attempted to clarify the similarities, if any, and contrasts of the Gahanic and later Avesta, regarding the status of woman.
