Abstract

Investigating through the relationship of FAMILY COHESION and EMOTIONAL AUTONOMY on the emotional problems of adolescents is the purpose of current research. The sample of this study consists of 1592 males and females' high school students in Shiraz, whom were chosen by random cluster sampling method. To perform this study, three scales were utilized: FAMILY COHESION scale, EMOTIONAL AUTONOMY scale, and depression, anxiety and stress scale. The relation of FAMILY COHESION and EMOTIONAL AUTONOMY variables on emotional problems were analysed through a casual model. The results showed that gender, emotional cohesion, and then individuation in EMOTIONAL AUTONOMY are of the most important variables related to emotional problems. Also, this study presents the gender as an effective factor to occurrence of emotional problems.
