Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine MEMORY deficits in SCHIZOPHRENIA and the impact of INFORMATION ORGANIZATION on improving of schizophrenic's MEMORY. The population of this study was schizophrenic men who had bedridden in Razi hospital in Tabriz.28 schizophrenic (14 paranoid & 14 disorganized) and 14 normal subject were selected voluntarily.The normal subjects were matched with schizophrenic patients in age, education, and economic status. Subjects were tested with a list learning task consisting of a random and a blocked word-list. Analysis of the data involved both descriptive and inferential statistics including means, standard deviations, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tuki. The results revealed that the normal subject in MEMORY task doing better in comparison with schizophrenic patients. Also paranoid patients in MEMORY task doing better in comparison with disorganized and in all of the groups, organize of information improve the quality of MEMORY.
