Abstract

Representation is accounted as the most important theory about the nature of the arts. Based on this theory, its initial form is related to this point as the ratio of image to reality is revealed in Plato's work, which shows that each work of art is indicative of nature. Though this theory gradually changed into one of the predominant propositions in the analysis of arts, it faced a serious crisis with the invention of the cameras and the possibility of the world's Reproduction. In the postmodern era, the situation is exacerbated by the advent of digital technology and the possibility of producing independent and diverse versions without referring to the real world. This issue ultimately leads to the controversial challenges by theorists like Baudrillard about the end of the world's representation. Accordingly, the present study, based on valid library and electronic resources and the analysis of qualitative data, tries to show how Reproduction and reproducibility in this era will change the nature of the representation and will be the basis of the end of the postmodern era. According to the research hypothesis, Reproduction plays a key role in this question 'How this representation will be ended". Studies show that, although Benjamin, first, noticed the changes in the representational nature of the artistic works, he went through a fundamental effect of Reproduction on the structure of the representational system by doing a one-sided analysis. But by redefining Reproduction beyond the theory of Benjamin, the fields will be provided for presenting new concepts such as simulation and Hyper-reality as well as the discourses about the end of the Representation System defined by Baudrillard as the result of digital technology. This point leads to a new concept toward the ratio of the image to the reality during the post-modernism.
