Abstract

FAMILY is an Integration link of culture and social order. In fact it's an institute responsible for maintaining the societies moral health. Its major function is to Upbringing normal individuals socially, and mentally, and behaviorally compatible ones.The article has studied the relationship between FAMILY's SOCIAL CAPITAL and youth identity. The purpose of the research is to study aspects of discoursal, normative relationships inside the FAMILY and SOCIAL IDENTITY as the main research variable, as well as, to study SOCIAL CAPITAL and SOCIAL IDENTITY of the youth, and the way they link together. SOCIAL CAPITAL as a key concept in sociology, includes norms and relations. The concept of identity has both subjective and objective dimensions. Its subjective dimension involves individuals attitudes and trust toward and in society. Objective dimension includes their social participations. The students of high school and pre-university levels in state schools of the districts of 3, 16, and 18 in Tehran in Year 1386-87 have selected as the research population. 203 students were selected as research sample by random sampling. The findings of the research reveal a meaningful and positive relation of 99 % between the two variables of SOCIAL CAPITAL of FAMILY and SOCIAL IDENTITY.
