Abstract

 In ROAD CONSTRUCTION projects, most of operations volume relates to EARTHWORKS esp. loading and earth transportation where it is often seen that weight factor reaches up to 70%. Thus it seems inevitable to review and analyze the OPTIMIZED NUMBER of machineries required, as it will put too much financial pressure on project. In this article by use of QUEUING THEORY (Single Server Model) we have tried to present method of calculating OPTIMIZED NUMBER of required machineries based on costs comparison and make optimized decisions for the sample issue.
