Abstract

This paper aims to measure the sustainability level of small local communities (Urban neighborhoods) in the exploitation and use of natural, human and ecological resources so that all members or local communities have appropriate health, life, security and integration between environment, human activities and ecological dynamic. Therefore, two neighborhoods of upper and lower areas in Babol have been selected as a sample to answer the question about the situations of sustainable development indicators and the differences among them. Due to the research nature and its intended nature, the current research is cross-sectional survey which has been carried out after gathering the field data through the research-made questionnaire. The data has been analyzed through one-sample t-test in SPSS software. The results showed that there are significant differences between urban neighborhoods in terms of sustainable development indicators so that Siah-tali neighborhood has unsustainable situation and Tandast neighborhood has been sustainable except in social indicators.
