Abstract

The aim of the present paper is the study of upstream section of MINAB RIVER in the plain zone (from Dam to Minab Bridge) and to investigate RIVER EROSION mechanism and RIVER CHANNEL reaction form point of view of pattern and vertical and horizontal profile against geological structure. To study river bed variations, vertical profile of river determined using maps with 1:20000 scales. To recognize the function of erosion in channel, regarding numerous sections in this geomorphologic unit (channel), four sections have been analyzed in different places. At present, the situation of MINAB RIVER Due to gradual reduction of solid load of Minab basin because of dam construction and grasping sediments, especially coarse sediments in the reservoir behind the dam, is as descending profile alongside the river reach.
