Abstract

SOCIAL CAPITAL and ECONOMIC FREEDOM can affect the ECONOMIC GROWTH along the other factors in the production function. This research intends to test the effects of these two variables on the ECONOMIC GROWTH. IRAN's economy is a suitable case for testing this idea. Based on a generalized neoclassical growth model, the effects of these two factors are tested separately and also together with the growth. Using ARDL approach, the estimated results show that SOCIAL CAPITAL and ECONOMIC FREEDOM have significant and positive effects on the growth. Finally, it is shown that the ECONOMIC GROWTH of IRAN is more affected by ECONOMIC FREEDOM than SOCIAL CAPITAL.
